Welcome back to our show! On this episode, we are going to break down the Flight Trauma response and well... we'll definitely going to break down as well.
This trauma response is one that's very close to Jamie's heart. We discuss the discomfort of both experiencing and overcoming this response.
We really dive into where you feel it physically/emotionally, the origins/motive, maladaptive coping skills as well as some solutions! We really look forward to continuing to structure our Demolition Diaries series in this way and as always, we hope that this episode helps those who need it.

Whewww boy do we get into the meat of the subject in this episode. We really hope you're buckled in for this one because it took us places that we didn't even expect to go.
One of my (Jamie) most favorite parts of doing the research on episode topics that I suggest is listening to Stephanie's (let's see if she notices me using her full government here 😉) raw emotional feedback and the truly extensive and in-depth game of 'vulnerability volleyball' that commences in the aftermath.
So please join us on another real as it comes therapy session between the best of friends that find themselves no longer at the beginning of their healing journey. We'll be discussing how surreal it feels to notice the progress, reflecting on some of the most intense moments of our grief and most importantly, discussing the definition of trauma and how the healing process, in and of itself, can f*ck your sh*t uppp.
In this episode, I think we do a pretty good job of covering the wide range of impacts within trauma while also giving the listeners subtle reminders that there is light at the end of the tunnel and how exactly the trauma child can find their wild, again.
As always, we love all of you and appreciate your feedback more than you'll ever know.

Once again, we spent the entire first half of the episode reminiscing and giving context to the topic of the episode. We always try to maintain a delicate balance between developing a more personal relationship between us and the listeners and offering helpful advice or teaching about a subject.
That being said, we really hope you enjoy the discussions about learning how other cultures grieve, how far we’ve come on being able to listen to our bodies, one of the roots behind Jamie’s shame and self hatred surrounding large emotions, Steph’s humorous (and loving) experiences with Jamie’s children, live and in person practices of self awareness, Steph sharing her coaches kind words about the Stay Wild, Trauma Child podcast, and recent examples of exactly how what we’re practicing is having life changing effects on our every day lives.
Stay tuned to find out how all of this relates to the definition of trauma and our ability (or lack there of) to work through that trauma as human beings. It’s going to be a good one… we hope you’re ready! 😮💨

In this episode, (which might actually be our shortest episode in the history of this podcast) we discuss the fight trauma response, what’s happening in your brain and the origins of this particular response. With a special little guest at the end!
As you can see, Steph rolled her eyes at me when it came to cutting out parts to make this a one part episode but that’s why we love her! She keeps me grounded and reminds me of our top priorities when we started Stay Wild, Trauma Child.
Which is, not editing/filtering ourselves to be more palatable to potential new listeners or enticing to the wrong brands as we continue to grow. We hope that, even in the midst of our multi-part episodes, you can hear our commitment to keeping our voices, stories and feelings as raw and real as possible. And in response, that it encourages you to always do the same ❤️
P.s. We apologize for the sound quality but, shit happens yall! love you!

Welcome to the very first episode of our Trauma Response series! Where we, of course, spend the first 36 minutes loosely reflecting on our childhoods and where some of our own responses might have stemmed from.
We spend the majority of the episode telling stories but hopefully some listeners can relate. We cover everything from the dynamics of divorce in our childhood, illnesses, step parents, your parents roles in your own marriage and how committing to working through these things has an impact on your actions as adult.
The last 8-10 min we really start jumping into the details of the fight response.
We hope that even when we get a little squirrel brained and off track, that us being vulnerable in episodes like this also inspires you to be vulnerable. We hope that it encourages you to reflect on your life with a curiosity to create positive change as well. And as always, we hope it reminds you to Stay Wild ❤️

Welcome to the last episode of our primal wounds series!
Truthfully Jamie and I cant even begin to wrap our brains around the fact that we actually stuck to a series and saw them all the way through, I guess we do really well when we actually plan things out!
In part one we are going to discuss the humiliation wound and how one would form this particular one.

Hi and welcome to the shit show!
After an unimaginable series of truly life…
Our mission is to create a platform where people have a place to:
🌒 Feel seen
🌒 Grieve
🌒 Feel supported
🌒 Find laughter in the dark moments
🌒 Feel understood
🌒 Safely explore their trauma without judgment
🌒 Feel accepted
🌒 Celebrate the tiny victories
🌒 NOT feel 'behind' or broken
We want our listeners to feel normal in the abnormal and to give a voice to the unheard.
And as with any walk of life, the mission has evolved a bit since we have started. Don’t you worry, we are still committed to sharing the raw details of our healing journeys in the most authentic and humorous of ways. But now, we finally feel confident enough to start giving you new information, recommendations and resources that we’ve found along this emotional expedition! 🤗
Que drumroll for Season 2:
✨ The Demolition Diaries ✨
In this season, we will be heavily focused on both learning about and deconstructing the dozens of different psychological theories and breakdowns surrounding wounds, traumas, triggers and the maladaptive behaviors that we develop as non-constructive coping mechanisms.
⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING⚠️
We will be covering things such as (but not limited to) mental/emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, divorce, co-parenting, mental disorders, neurological disorders, sudden loss, addiction, loving someone who’s an addict, guiding your children through trauma and loss etc.
We are frequently checking in with each other to make sure that we are staying true to our tagline that’s been with us since day one.
“Learn
WITH us, not FROM us.”
We are not doctors or professionals and we most certainly don’t have all the answers (yet! 😉). But we DO feel that it is vital to provide real people (going through very real and very human experiences) with an honest, raw and relatable source to grow WITH.
Lastly and most importantly...
our biggest hope is that while exploring the many facets of life, liberty and LITERALLY the many different pursuits of happiness... we can help your inner child both to remember and feel safe enough to find their wild again. ❤️
Xoxo
always,
Steph & Jaim
