A telethon?? Like an old school telethon? Sure why not! Nice convo with Jim Watt from Vagabond Saint Tattoo and Spa. Like other small business folk Jim and his crew have suffered the ups and down of opening a business in Hamilton. Working towards a better model for the business they are hit with the covid crisis. In the convo Jim explains how they are trying to survive and the telethon idea.  Music; comedians, and even a cooking segment will be apart of it. More will be added leading up to the online telethon. Matt from Hub of the Hammer will be co-hosting the event.

It was conference call time with Magic Duck. Kyle and Andrew from Magic Duck blend pop music with some pitch bending . It was fun to listen to the Magic Duck. I kept hearing 60’s pop in the music, they explained not only they were fans but enjoyed Harry Nielson. I’m  look forward to hearing the next project! They have been added to Wel – Pel records roster here in Hamilton Ontario.

Muletide Goes Online in Support of Over The  Bridge  The 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic has been particularly difficult for live  musicians and venues who’ve witnessed drastic changes to their  livelihoods. The Mule Spinner wants to help. Beginning, Saturday  December 19th, the Mule Spinner is launching its MuleTide 2020  Online Campaign in support of Over The Bridge. Over The Bridge is a  non-profit organization whose mission is to support musicians’  mental health through peer-support and other programs. Together  with local businesses, who will have MuleTide 2020 Stickers for sale,  the campaign is hoping to raise $1000 by January 3rd.

“It’s a small way we can support both musicians and small  businesses in our area,” says organizer, Steve Deeps “We’re hoping to  get more traffic to these businesses who’ve also been hurt by the  pandemic, raise much needed awareness for mental health for the  music industry, and also give our supporters a nice recap of last  year’s MuleTide with some special guests joining us online this year.  Hopefully we can resume our annual MuleTide tradition in 2021, but  for now, we’re adapting last years’ show for an online audience.”

The free Muletide Kick-off broadcast will go live from the iconic Mule  Spinner venue on the site of The Cotton Factory on Saturday, Dec 19  starting at 8pm. It will feature professionally edited music videos  from last year’s beautiful sold-out event, an all new release from the  band Deeps, on air performances from John Kirby and Mary Simon  as well as a few words from Ace Piva, the founder of the Over the  Bridge Non-Profit.

The live feed will be aired on facebook.com/otbnonprofit, as well as  the Mule Spinner Live Studio YouTube page.

The audience is encouraged to donate directly online to Over The  Bridge, or by visiting our supporting vendors and buying a sticker  from December 19th to January 3rd.
