I had a long day of Interview before I chatted with Jacob. I was in a bit of a giddy mood. Jacob was tolerant of my humour! In the Interview we discover Jacob has is surrounded by some of talented that help him shape his music.  I’m looking forward to his upcoming release.

Short Bio

Jacob Weil (pronounced Wheel) is a road-worn singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, originally from Hamilton, ON, and currently based out of Vancouver, BC. He has spent much of the past 3 years zig-zagging across North America as a gun-for-hire musician supporting Canadian acts Davenport and Sam Weber (Sonic Unyon Records). ”

As a solo artist and singer-songwriter, Jacob began as a teenager, but fell out of habit with the writing process after high-school, shifting his focus toward bringing alive the music of his friends instead. It wasn’t until touring with Sam Weber, on months-long tours, that Jacob began writing songs for himself again in the back of the van after shows and during weeks at home between tours.

In early 2020, after finally re-discovering his own unique sound and storytellers voice, Jacob put his feet to the pavement, recording a debut 7-track EP in Los Angeles, CA alongside friends made during years of touring. Floating purposefully between the genres of folk, Americana and alternative music, Jacob prides himself in his storytelling and creating a unique musical space with each song and performance. His first single ‘Feeling My Youth’ is due out on December 4th, and the full EP of the same name is set to drop January 22nd, 2021.

I dig Golden feather. I was never the Grateful Dead fanatic like others in my social circle. That style of music and culture just didn’t click with me in my younger years. Over the years my perspective changed on the culture of jam music. Golden Feather 4 song e.p has a nice honest feel to it. Brad talking about the genesis of the project is feel good story in covid times. When Summer roles around and they have a chance to play, I believe the live show will take Golden Feather to another level of enjoyment.
