Cameron Davidson from Punchline Radio has passion for comedy and radio. He is alumni from the original radio station CHMR that we now call The Hawk. It’s was good feeling seeing Matt come into the studio at the radio station. Myself , Matt and Dan Jelly did  some radio and podcasting together under the moniker In The Neighbourhood. Winter Solstice Festival beckons the return to light on the eve of the longest night of the year. Revelers are invited to join in the parade of light with LED lanterns and battery powered light along the rail trail where you’ll encounter spectacular projection art installations. There will be stilted dancers, puppets, a mobile percussion machine, music, fire entertainers, culminating in a huge fire finale to light up the night. Planted in Hamilton will be there with delicious hot beverages and snacks, and Cons & Kernels with their criminally good popcorn. A family-friendly event for all ages.

Schedule of events:

6:30pm: Officially begin with a parade of lights, sound and puppets down the rail trail to take in the spectacle of light and projection installations. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and bring LED lanterns, battery operated lights, and noise makers!)

7:00pm: Upon return Todd Murray will be performing on his homemade synthesizers, and Kevin MacKay will be organizing the invition to write your regrets or hopes and place your special note into a special art installation that turns into a spectacular fire finale. Hamilton Aerial Group will perform on stilts with music.

7:30pm: Fire entertainer Billy Bones performs, ending with the lighting of the incredible fire finale.

7:55pm: Hammer City Samba perform as fire lights up the night.

8:30pm: Corktown Pub after party.

Alternatively, visit the Winter Solstice Bee Ball event hosted by Humble Bee at Shawn & Ed Brewing Company in Dundas.
