As I’m putting the radio show together for Steel City Music I get word that my My good friend Gene Champagne was released from the hospital after suffering from severe pneumonia and covid. Gene, like others have some work to do to get better after suffering from covid. His wife Julie and and family will make sure that happens.

Strange that I get some great news about Gene, but I have the heaviness of finding out Paul Humphry from Blue Peter passed away earlier in the week. I was lucky enough to interview Paul back in the day to help promote some shows in Hamilton. Blue Peter was apart of our music catalogue as a kid. R.I.P Paul.

In this hour we open up the Steel City Music Mail Bag!  I put the call out on facebook music groups across Canada to see what people are doing in the music world.  Lot’s of submissions for the April 16 show.  Music styles everywhere, which I like for the show.

I my old friend Ian Hassell from The Let Downs had recent health issue to deal with. Seems lately people in the music community of Hamilton have been getting some scares. I just read that he is on the mend.  Here is to a speedy recovery Ian.
