There have been a few bright spots early in camp. While some of the names might be a surprise, Pittsburgh is overjoyed with the competition early on.

As training camp rolls around, we take a look at two different kinds of battles. Battles for playing time between position-mates, and battles between position foes ase the offense and defense battles it. Both types of battles will tell a TON about who plays where and how long. Can the rookies (Fautanu, Frazier, Wilson, & Wilson) secure starting roles?

Cam Sutton getting suspended for 8 games has left an opening for others to succeed. While it leaves a gapping hole at slot corner, The opportunity for others to step up is there. Who will it be? 

If the Steelers' offense are going to be an effective group this year, George Pickens is going have to be a top WR in the NFL. It remains to be seen if we add any WRs before the season starts to take some attention off of Pickens.We shall see. 

(1) Jaylen Warren has shown glimpse of greatest over the last two seasons. With him and Najee Harris on the last year of their deals, we need to see if Jaylen can carry the full load of the offense. History shows that success can be had with the TE being a top 2 option on offense, and Arthur Smith's background is one of those examples. (2) We hopefully will carry a young offensove line into the season, starting Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier. Will they be ready for primetime? (3) James Daniels has been one of the solid pieces of the Steelers' line that struggle to protect its QB. Do we extend Daniels or do we move on after the season and let James play for a contract? (4) CJ, Chris James, joins us again to discuss the opposing QBs within our division. Strengths, weaknesses, & rankings.

(1) Mini-camp is a wrap and there are some players that stood out as ones who took their offseason seriously and want to make that jump this season. (2) We welcome QB guru Chris “CJ” James to help us well-informed view of our current and future QB situations thru an unbiased lens. (3) The Steelers under Mike Tomlin have notoriously been cheap when it comes to its skill position players. Do the Steelers need to address the lop-sided pay scale in order to reach the heights we all want to see. (4) Minkah Fitzpatrick is a top tier safety in this league without question. After a season where he dealt with injuries that forced him to miss 7 games, he’s looking, and we’re looking, for a bounce back season.
