Season 14, Episode 16 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly agreeing to terms with free agent CB Desmond King. We discuss his fit in the Steelers' defense and more. We also discuss which cornerback might be jettisoned with King coming to the 53-man roster.

Alex and I then transition to discussing the initial 53-man roster that the Steelers set on Tuesday. We talk about the team trading OL Kendrick Green to the Houston Texans for a 2025 later round pick and how that seems to be another great deal made by GM Omar Khan and an unexpected one at that.

We go through each position group on the initial 53-man roster and talk about any surprises to come out of all the moves these past few days. We spend time talking about the team keeping two punters initially and how one is likely to be traded soon.

Will any players boomerang back to the roster in the coming day or days? We briefly attempt to answer that question in this show.

We go over a few players that might circle back to the Steelers' practice squad these next few days as well.

Finally, I go over the Steelers' 2023 salary cap situation based off the team's initial 53-man roster. We talk quickly about whether the team will need to restructure the contract of OLB T.J. Watt in the next several days.

Season 14, Episode 15 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers trading G Kevin Dotson to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. We go over all the details of that trade and that includes compensation, cap impact, why the move happened and what it might mean for the offensive line group on the 53-man roster.

We discuss the possibility of two Steelers' offensive linemen, Spencer Anderson and Dylan Cook, both making the 53-man roster on the heels of Dotson being traded. We also discuss if C Kendrick Green still has a chance of sticking around with Dotson now gone.

The Steelers trimmed their roster down to 80 active players since our last show, so Alex and I pass along the nine other players that were cut in addition to Dotson being traded.

Alex and I have both submitted out final 53-man roster predictions, so we review our choices and why we chose certain players over others. We differ on two players overall in our 53-man selections. We also discuss the bubble players we both have entering this week's roster cutdown.

Late in this show, news breaks that the Steelers are waiving ILB Tanner Muse on Monday, so we make sure to address that and how that move was a bit surprising. We wonder if there is more to the Muse early waiving than might meet the eye.

Season 14, Episode 14 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers ending their 2023 preseason on Thursday night with an impressive win against the Atlanta Falcons on the road.

We start by discussing the great offseason the Steelers had this year and how it couldn’t have been scripted any better. We also talk about the health of the Steelers coming out of the Thursday night game. We go over the short list of players that sat out Thursday night against the Falcons as well.

As far as recapping the Thursday night game, Alex and I start on the offensive side and go position group by position group. We address the early big plays, how quarterback Kenny Pickett looked in addition to discussing a few other boxes the offense checked Thursday night.

Alex and I spend a lot of time on the offense before moving over to the defensive side of the football. All of the position groups are discussed along with the play of several individual players. We talk about a few tough decisions that the Steelers will need to make in the coming days on that side of the football. Yes, we talk some about the play of rookie OLB Nick Herbig Thursday night.

Special teams is addressed later in this show as part of us recapping the Thursday night game.

The Steelers now must trim their active roster down to 53 players by Tuesday evening so Alex and I discuss a few players that might be traded. We also talk about overall roster construction and how the team might not need to manipulate the initial 53-man unit because of injuries.
