Season 17, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday to open their 2026 regular season.

Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of their first regular season game in addition to going over the six players that were inactive for that contest, one of which was CB Joey Porter Jr.

As we get into recapping the Steelers' win over the Falcons, we start by talking quite a bit about the play of the team's defense. We go over the amazing play of OLB T.J. Watt on Sunday in addition to discussing several snap counts on that side of the football. Several defensive players had strong showings against the Falcons on Sunday, so we make sure to note each one. We also discuss how poorly Falcons QB Cooper Rush played on Sunday and how most of Atlanta's success on offense came via RB Bijan Robinson.

After thoroughly breaking down several aspects of Pittsburgh's defensive play from Sunday, Alex and I then do the same for the offense. We note how QB Aaron Rodgers pushed the football down the field with more regularity and how a key third down passing play to TE Darnell Washington effectively secured a win. We talk about the running game and how it came alive late in the game.

When we’re finished talking about several things related to the offense, Alex and I move on to break down Pittsburgh's play on special teams against the Falcons.

Once we are done breaking down the Steelers Sunday win against the Falcons, Alex and I discuss the team being unable to sign Porter to a contract extension prior to the game getting underway. We discuss what the immediate future might be when it comes to Porter and that includes us discussing the possibility that he could ultimately wind up being traded by this year's deadline.

Season 17, Episode 21 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Thursday injury reports released by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons ahead of the Sunday game between the two teams. We spend a little time focusing on the status of Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa heading into Friday as a recent oblique injury seems to have him questionable for Sunday's game. We talk about how backup QB Cooper Rush could wind up starting for the Falcons on Sunday against the Steelers.

CB Joey Porter Jr. is the only player listed on the Steelers injury report heading into Friday so Alex and I discuss his ongoing situation whether both of us think he will ultimately sign a contract extension prior to Sunday's game. We also discuss the amount of playing time Porter could end up receiving on Sunday if he does indeed play against the Falcons.

In the middle of this Friday show, Alex and I are joined by Daniel Flick, who covers the Falcons for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Daniel provides to us his insight on the 2026 Falcons ahead of them facing the Steelers on Sunday. He answers several questions we have about the Falcons offense and defense ahead of the Sunday game. At the end of our interview with Daniel, he provides us with a final score prediction for Sunday's game.

Season 17, Episode 20 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing their first depth chart of the 2026 season on Wednesday. We sift through several elements related to that depth chart and how much of it can be taken seriously.

The Steelers have reportedly now made a contract offer to CB Joey Porter Jr. as of Tuesday, so Alex and I go over the piece of news. We discuss what common ground the two sides could end up with should an extension ultimately get finalized before Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed QB Baker Mayfield to a contract extension on Tuesday so Alex and I make sure to pass along that news on the heels of there being previous speculation that he could ultimately land in Pittsburgh in 2027.

Steelers HC Mike McCarthy, in addition to the team's three coordinators, all spoke to the media on Monday, so Alex and I go over the main talking points that came out of those press conferences. We also go over a few things that QB Aaron Rodgers said in a few recent interviews that surfaced on Tuesday.

Ahead of the 2026 NFL season getting underway Wednesday night, Alex and I give our record predictions for several teams as part of us announcing the teams we think will ultimately make the playoffs. Alex and I predict our 2026 Super Bowl champions later in this show as well.

With our next scheduled show being on Friday, Alex and I pick the Wednesday and Thursday night NFL games against the spread to start rounding out this episode.
