In this episode, Sandrine and Krista get together despite a very stormy day in Alabama and put together a lesson on communication strategies. The objective is to help students prepare for impromptu conversations in target language.

The Alabama weather carried through the recording and halfway through Krista comes through as a psychic, answering and reacting before (or at the same time) Sandrine speaks. We apologize for that eerie experience - which is an added bonus to this great ride on language teaching.

Sandrine is trying to build her Spanish back up and show Krista what she can do with it. Meanwhile Krista is thinking ahead to next week's class so Krista and Sandrine put their heads together and come up with a lesson plan while being mindful of classroom objectives, and modes of communication.

In this episode Krista and Sandrine discuss some ways to reach out to students if there is no access to Zoom/GoogleMeet. They also brainstorm on a few activities that can be used and reused without needing technology since not every teacher is able to keep synchronous classes during this COVID-19 distancing.

At a time when schools are closing temporarily (until it becomes permanent for the end of the school year), teachers are finding themselves in front of the monumental class of reproducing their every day magic via remote settings. Resources and ideas are everywhere, but where to begin. That's what Krista and Sandrine discuss today as they hope to build a diverse and engaged language teachers community.
