In Matthew 25 we have more parables given by Jesus. We have the parable of the virgins in verses 1-13 and the point is that we always must be ready for His coming. In verses 14-30 we have the parable of the talents and then in verses 31-46 we have more instructions on ends times.We see in this chapter that we must watch for His coming, we also must use His gifts for His Kingdom. In verses 14-30 Jesus is not talking about gaining money for Him, but serving and investing in people’s lives. In verses 31-46 we see an emphasis on loving others.

In Leviticus 22 we have instructions about the holiness of offerings. Again, under the Old Testament system our offerings must be perfectly holy. Thankfully, Jesus became our perfect offering.

In Matthew 24 we have instructions about the future. Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple in verses 1-2. Then, in verses 3-14 we have instructions about the future. In verses 15-31 we have instructions about the “great tribulation.” Within that section in verses 29-31 we have instructions about the coming of the Jesus. In verses 32-35 we have the lesson of the fig tree. Then, in verses 36-51 Jesus teaches that no one knows the day or the hour.

In Leviticus 21 we have instructions about the holiness of the priests. Remember that Leviticus is about the Levites and the Levites are the priestly tribe. God is holy and we must worship Him in holiness.

In Matthew 23 we have warnings against the religious leaders of the day. In verses 1-12 we have warnings against teachers of the law and pharisees. In verses 13-36 we have woes against teachers of the law and the pharisees. In verses 37-39 we have a lament over Jerusalem.

In Leviticus 20 we have punishments for disobedience, including punishment for child sacrifice. This chapter is similar to chapter 18. In verses 1-6 we have punishment for the worship of Molech. In verses 10-21 we have punishments for sexual immorality. In verses 22-27 we have instructions about holiness.

In Matthew 22 we have the parable of the wedding feast in verses 1-14. In verses 15-22 we have instructions about paying taxes. In verses 23-33 we have teaching about the resurrection. In verses 34-45 we have the great commandment.

In Leviticus 19 we have more instructions about holiness. The Lord is holy. In verses 9-18 the instructions are about loving your neighbor. In verses 19-36 the instructions are about keeping God’s commands.

In Matthew 21 we have the triumphal entry (verses 1-11), then Jesus cleanses the temple (verses 12-17), followed by Jesus cursing the fig tree in verses 18-22. Jesus then tells more parables. The parable of the two sons (verses 28-32) and the parable of the tenants (verses 46).

In Leviticus 18 we have prohibitions against pagan practices. God is setting them up as His people. God is creating a Jewish nation state and He does not want them like the pagan people of the land. Canaanite worship included pedophilia and child sacrificing and God does not want them doing those things. The whole chapter is, for the most part, about unlawful sexual relations. Leviticus chapters 18-22 are a call to holiness. Remember, Leviticus is named after the Levites and the Levites are the priestly tribe. God is holy and we must worship in holiness. Jesus became our perfect sacrifice.
