Mik is an outstanding pilot currently working on her Commercial-Single Engine rating. She is heavily involved with the National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) working to enhance diversity and inclusion in the aviation industry. It is no secret that aviation is a white heterosexual male dominated industry that has not always offered minorities the same opportunities and respect. Mik describes her experience at a recent Diversity Summit hosted by NGPA and offers her insight as to how we can enhance safety in the cockpit through devices like "Professional Standards" and avoiding microaggressions.
