  • 005 || The Stories That Shape Us

    This week Nick and Joy talk about their childhood favorite books, being early readers, and how pizza was the thing that made them both eager readers. It gets weird, but it's fun. They also talk about their summer reading lists, and what they hope to learn or enjoy as they let stories shape their creativity. How do the stories and books you read shape what and how you create?

    Nick's List: Keep Going, Walking on Water, Skyward, Paper Girls, and The Accidental Creative.

    Joy's List: The Princess Saves Herself in This One, Fairview, Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris, Ain't No Mo by Jordan E. Cooper. (These two are scripted plays currently in production.)

    Check out Nick's blog post up this week: The End Credits

  • 004 || Art as Therapy

    This week we discuss art as a form of therapy and self care. Joy brings some information from The American Art Therapy Association, and we break a bit of our own moments in life where art has been a healthy way to process circumstances. Check out Lynzy Lab regarding the bit of dance Nick and Joy discussed. And remember, we are not therapists, nor do we claim to be professional counselors, if you or someone you know is struggling as is need of care, always seek professional help. We love you.
