Ever been asked to help a friend in need and didnt know what to do? In this episode Dr. Thomas, once and for all outlines God's expectations and, our role as it relates to helping others. 

4:01 - Matthew 25:8. There are things we've asked of God that we'll never see because we procrastinated and have wasted the gift He has given us. God never gave you that authority, and you don't have permission to waste it.  

5:52 - "Foolish people realize the wise have oil to spare." Pay attention to wise people's actions. Fools come to the wise when they're about to run out of oil. Guard and protect what you've worked to obtain while being led by the Holy Spirit to give unto people who need it. 

12:16 - "God did make you the overseer of his promises." We have a choice to obtain oil for ourselves, and there's a way that God has provided for us to do so. Be strong and take intentional actions moving forward.

14:53 - You're not a provider and can't save the whole world! That's God's responsibility, and it's most effective to help those that want to be helped. 

18:41 - "A supplier is a substitute or temporary fix, and a provider is a producer."

18:50 - Deuteronomy 2:7 & 1 Samuel 2:8 displays God's ability to bless you even in the wilderness and raise you out of poor situations. 

23:50 - Psalms 147:8 & Matthew 6:26 demonstrate God's power to provide for all of our needs.

1. Did God give you the authority to give your oil away in certain situations? Seek him in all your ways, and he'll direct your paths.

⁃ Go to the provider of the oil you're looking to obtain. 
⁃ Avoid being burnt or stressed out helping others who have no desire to help themselves. 
⁃ Don't dim your light by feeling guilty about operating in what God provided for you. 
⁃ Encourage others to seek the ultimate source of oil.
⁃ Operate out of his mercy and grace that's given to us undeservingly. 
⁃ Evaluate the "self-help" efforts of people you are considering helping. Are they doing all they can, or are they holding out and not giving their all? That can be an indicator of whether you should get involved or not.
