The Zax by Dr Seuss
A story from the book The Sneetches and Other Stories features The Zax from the Dr. Seuss book. They are stubborn and arguable and have messy hair and hairy bodies. They live in the Prairie of Prax. Varieties of Zax include a North-Going Zax and a South-Going-Zax. Due to their stubbornness, they refuse to go in any direction other than their assigned directions. If a south-going Zax encounters a north-going Zax, they cannot solve their issue and the world progresses without them as years pass by, such as a highway being built over them and a city nearby while still standing grumpily at each other.

'Gerturde McFuzz' by Dr Seuss | kid's book read aloud
There once was a girl-bird named Gertrude McFuzz, and she had the smallest plain tail ever was.
Really loved the message in this story. It talks about a bird who is super envious and greedy, and how she needs to be happy with what she has. I love all the illustrations and the rhymes. The students were super engaged reading this story, and it was great for conversation with character traits.

The Big Brag by Dr Seuss. A wonderful story for kids read aloudÂ
It starts out harmlessly enough, with a rabbit feeling rather pleased with himself and his talent for hearing. A neighboring bear overhears the rabbit's boasting and takes offense. The challenge is on, and the bickering begins as the bear proclaims that his ability to smell is quite superior to the rabbit's hearing. It's up to a wise earthworm to point out the winner.
