Evan Mitchell graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

My interest in programming was sparked when I had to take a couple of computer science courses as part of my degree. I really enjoyed using programming languages to solve problems and build applications from scratch. From my experience in these courses, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in tech. I felt that I had just scratched the surface in college, so I turned to NSS to further my education. Since starting at NSS, I have grown tremendously as a developer by learning new technologies and solving new problems every day.

Joe Maifeld graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

After spending over ten years working professionally in the culinary field I felt the desire to pursue career change. For the longest time it felt like breaking into the developer field was inaccessible. I spent so long researching different paths to the role I wanted and finally found NSS after multiple recommendations and haven't looked back. I love and have needed the constant challenge. The need consistently learn and evolve will help drive my growth as a developer and I can't wait to see what it brings to my life and career.

Zachary Smith graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

I have always had a passion for building, fixing, and learning how things work. Eventually working my way into a maintenance technician role in automotive manufacturing allowed me to pursue these passions. But, when I was introduced to the idea of becoming a software developer, it was like a light bulb went off. This was the way to not only pursue my passions, but do it in a way that had all the other boxes checked that I was looking for in a long term career. Becoming a Software Developer was my new goal. I believe I can now achieve that, and I am looking forward to building, fixing, and learning new things as a developer.

Robert Parker graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

I have long enjoyed playing with and on computers. In high school I greatly enjoyed my BASIC programming class, and used that info to program my graphing calculator to run the quadratic equation for me. Never thought about how I could turn that into a career until many years later. After a decade of retail work, helping customers figure out what they want, and another decade working as a repair tech I decided to get into IT. Remembering my exposure to coding in high school led me to NSS.

Ben Shelton graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

Problem solving and technology have always caught my interest, and I've had a high aptitude for both. After spending years employing and honing those skills in customer-facing tech support for a software company, I decided that I wanted to explore a long-held curiosity with the development side and enrolled in Nashville Software School. What I found was a fast-paced environment that challenged me to put my collaborative, interpersonal, quick learning, and problem-solving skills to the test. It is easily one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in my life and leads me to look forward to the continuous learning and skill improvement opportunities that life as a software developer brings with it. Outside of coding, you can typically find me watching sports, attending concerts, or getting in a round of disc golf.

Haley Hickey graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

Before beginning my journey at NSS, I was working for a nonprofit called, Raise the Roof Academy. I love helping others whether it is through missionary work or creating. When a friend introduced me to software development, I realized that the tech field would allow me to continue my love for helping others but in a more creative way

Tiffany Smith graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

I am a crafty and creative person who has always had a love of science and learning. I love creating new things and finding new solutions to problems.

Andrew Ward graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

I was first introduced to programming by my dad. We would watch tutorials and do small projects together. During high school, I worked at Chick-fil-a and another job as an electrician's assistant. Eventually, I decided to make programming my career. I was eager to get started and was excited to hear that NSS would be an opportunity to get me on that path sooner and without accumulating large debts. Since joining NSS I have learned so much and I am excited to continue my learning among other developers in the workplace.

Sutherland Seals graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

I heard about NSS about about a year ago from a friend. She had nothing but positive things to say about the NSS program and how it had changed her life the better. I was introduced to programming through the CIS program in college and did some rudimentary coding and really enjoyed it but never got the chance to explore it further. After investigating NSS for myself, I knew this was my opportunity to go after something new that would challenge and push me to continue to grow professionally and personally.

Mason Thieman graduated with Web Development Cohort 57.

Ever since grade school, math, science, and other problem-solving subjects have been my forte. I was first exposed to coding when I began my mechatronics engineering program. I was so enthralled that I, instead, pursued and acquired a bachelor's degree in computer science from Middle Tennessee State University. Two years after graduation and the pandemic, I decided that I wanted more hands-on experience and to expand upon the knowledge gained from university. A friend and recent graduate, then, referred me to NSS and it has been a wonderful experience. I am very excited to make my contributions to world of software development.
