I began my journey at Nashville Software School having only dabbled in programming before. What NSS did was teach me hope to learn, which has become an instrumental part of this field. Now web development has become something I am passionate about. What drives me is knowing that the code that I write can change lives and progress the world.

I've loved tinkering with computers and figuring out how things worked since I got my first blue iMac back in 1997. After years of looking into programming, I finally joined a three week jumpstart course at Nashville Software School and fell in love. I can't wait to dive head first into this new career path.

I have worn many hats in my past careers; purchasing and inventory management, supervising, short-order cook, and delivery driver just to name a few. If there is one thing that has permeated through all these jobs, it is the technology I used to support me in these roles. Software development has endless possibilities, and is as rewarding as it is challenging. I am excited to continue my journey as a programmer and a student - because if there is one thing I have discovered about this field, it is that I will never stop learning.

During my time as a teacher I was surrounded by people who were eager to learn. I was inspired to pursue learning software development in the 6th grade. Finally, I decided to pick up what I thought to be a lost dream. When we were at the hospital where my wife was giving birth to our first child I began to learn how to write in the SWIFT language. I ate up everything related to software and web development. So much so that I decided to make a career change to become a software developer. I chose to go to Nashville Software School because of their strong track record of success and the 6 month time table was ideal for my situation. During my time at NSS I have had the opportunity to develop software in several languages such as: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, Django, and SQL. I am on track to graduate from NSS on Jan 10th 2022. I am looking for a junior software development job in the Nashville area. I have a passion for software development and a love of learning. I am a driven individual who doesn’t give up until the job is done.

I am currently in a Software Developer apprenticeship at Nashville Software School and have been a Psychological Operations Specialist in the United States Army for over 10 years. I also create weekly content for YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch for 40,000+ people. My diverse life experiences have led me to meeting many great people in the software development world. Seeing the problem solving and creativity their work involved first hand inspired me to travel down this career path.
