We recently watched this together and went on a roller coaster of emotions throughout. As two people who work with children, this doc confused, horrified, disturbed, and angered us and we knew we couldn't just let it sit. So, the only thing we could do is bring our thoughts about it to the pod. When he went out to bars, he would generously throw around money, tipping the servers extravagantly and buying rounds for the entire bar. He claimed to have millions of dollars stashed away in trust funds and said that he made his money doing hits for the mob. He seemed so mysterious. We are back with another episode full of WTF's. This is one that I personally had never heard of until I came across a book called "Love Me to Death" by Steve Jackson. This book took me on a wild ride and I just had to share this case with all of you. Wild Bill Cody was known as a charismatic, smooth talking cowboy to most who knew him. Today's case is an extremely hard one and one that I've been wanting to cover for a while. This is the tragic and horrifying case of the murder of 12 year old Shanda Sharer. In January of 1992, Shanda was lured from her father's home by four teenage girl's, three of whom she had never met before that night. She as brutally assaulted, tortured, and set on fire before succumbing to her various injuries. In part one of this series of episodes, we will be talking about Shanda and the events leading up to the night of her murder, as well as two of the key players involved in this case, Melinda Loveless and Amanda Heavrin. Every part of this case is absolutely horrific and we advise extreme caution before listening. We will be talking about topics such as child abuse, suicide, rape, and other forms of sexual assault so this is just a trigger warning for those who need it. Thank you all for listening.

Mark and Jennair Gerardot were just teenagers when they met and fell in love. The couple would marry and enjoy 24 years of a happy, but imperfect at times, marriage. In 2017, Mark would start a new job at the University of Delaware, where he would meet a successful, accomplished, and all around fantastic woman named Meredith Chapman. Meredith was Mark's boss and 15 years his junior, but nevertheless, Mark would end up falling madly in love with Meredith, sparking a whirlwind affair, hidden from his wife Jennair. When Jennair suspected that her husband may be involved with another woman, she embarked on a surveillance mission, intent on uncovering Mark's affair with his boss and sabotaging any relationship he and Meredith had. Mark and Jennair would eventually agree on a divorce, but Jennair wasn't going to take this lying down. SHe intended on taking Matters into her own hands, and on April 23, 2018, Jennair would end Mark's affair with Meredith once and for all, with devastating consequences for everyone involved.

For this episode, I used a book called "Irreparable" written by Mark Gerardot himself. I could not put this book down, and knew that I had to cover this case. Phil Hartman was a legendary comedian who you might remember from such shows as Saturday Night Live and Newsradio, along with a couple of on-going roles in a little cartoon called The Simpsons, where he played low rate lawyer, Lionel Hutz, and B-Film actor, Troy McClure, among others. But Phil was so much more than just an actor. He was a graphic artist, a skilled impressionist, and an all around amazing friend, brother, and father. Tragically, Phil's life was cut short in May of 1998, when he was murdered by his wife Brynn, in a crime that shook Hollywood. Join me and Rachel was we take a ride through Phil's crazy life, from his roots in Brantford, Ontario, his rise to fame, and the legacies he left behind.

In our very first Story Crime Christmas Episode, we bring you a chilling Christmas murder from Chicago, Illinois. In 2013, 18 year old Alexis Valdez was not in the Christmas Spirit when he viciously took the life of his aunt's boyfriend Sylvestre Diaz-Hernandez.
