The Flying Dutchman is a poem by John Boyle O'Reilly

John Boyle O'Reilly was an Irish-born poet, journalist and fiction writer. As a youth in Ireland, he was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, or Fenians, for which he was transported to Western Australia. After escaping to the United States, he became a prominent spokesperson for the Irish community and culture, through his editorship of the Boston newspaper The Pilot, his prolific writing, and his lecture tours.

The Fiddler of Gord is an amalgamation of Scottish folklore, written into a single tale by George P.S. Peterson. This tale was written as a way to preserve some of the aspects of the small Scottish island of Papa Stour. 

"The Tell Tale Heart" is one of the classic tales of murder from Edgar Allan Poe. We kick off October with this tale of horror and suspense.

Way back about the time Davy Crockett invented the frontier, there was a little man who did a great thing. Johnny Appleseed filled the frontier with apple orchards!

Anybody in cow country can tell you about Pecos Bill. He was the wild westerner who invented cow-punching, and what I mean, he was wild!
