“HEY! STOP! THAT’S MY CAR!”

I ran towards the two men towing my car from my school parking lot. As soon as I got to them, I shoved one of them.

“Hey relax! We're here to deliver your new car and take this one.”

I stared at him in confusion until he pointed to a brand new sports car with a red ribbon. 

“A Lamborghini? OOOOOH YEAH BABY!!”

Hello. I’m Nate and I live in the luxurious Upper East Side in New York.

Growing up, my sister Lily and I had everything except a mother, who abandoned us when we were very young. After she left, dad immersed himself into his job and in just a few years, he became one of the wealthiest men in the city. We barely saw him but we did see his money. He bought us whatever we wanted from the latest designer clothes to the latest gadgets, which made me popular at school. 

"Dude! Is that the latest iPhone? Where did you buy it? They're not even in stores yet!"

"Oh my Dad spoke to Apple and they made one custom for me.”

I loved the look on their faces when they realised just how rich I was.

By the time I was in high school, Lily and I were pretty much living on our own. That meant we got into a lot of trouble but dad always bought our way out, until one day when Lily used his credit card to buy dozens of designer clothes and hand them out to homeless people. When he got a call from the bank, he came home immediately.

“Hi, Mom!” 

As I leaned over to kiss Mom, you wouldn’t believe what happened! The cover of my milkshake fell off and the milkshake splattered on the white dress! Suddenly, a blood-curdling screech filled the room.

“What did you do to my dress?! I paid $5000 for this dress! You better hope that stain comes out, you doofus!”

“Don’t you dare talk to my mother that way you spoiled brat!”

“I’ll talk to your mother however I choose!”

With my fists clenched I stepped towards Debbie.

“What is going on here?”

“They ruined my dress for tonight, Daddy! Fire her!”

Mr. Langston looked at the dress that Mom held in her hand then at the milkshake in mine.

“Mr. Langston, I can expl…”

“Mrs. Pierce, I think it’s time you left…for good.”

Mom nodded and without another word, she exited the room and I followed closely on her heels.

"Ugh!"

Hi! My name is Tasha, and this is the story of my crazy life. From the moment I was born, I was doomed. My parents set their eyes on me and saw nothing but a beautiful baby they could use to make a lot of bucks with. They signed me onto a modelling agency as soon as I could walk, and I wasn't allowed to do much else than pose for crazy photos all the time.

"I'm hungry mom! Can you stop the stupid photos and come give me food!?"

That was my older sister by one year, Morgan. For some reason I didn't understand then why she was always super angry. She threw tantrums any time she was present during my photoshoots.

"Oh, Morgan, just a little more, we need to have perfect shots of your cute sister."

Suddenly, I felt something cold all over the front of my beautiful dress! I looked down to see the mango juice Morgan had been sipping all over my body.

"Morgan! Why would you do that!?"

"Hi I am Raven and..... "

"Ahhhhhhh...Raven help me...my eyes are on fire!"

That's my sister.... 

"I told you not to play with the soap Regina!"

I'm only nine years old, but my baby sister makes me feel like her parent, since she's always getting herself into trouble and if I don't help her, then who will, since mom is always so busy. 

"Raven, Regina- You're going to be late for school!"

Growing up I learned to be the responsible big sister. Regina is three years younger than me and we both live with our mom who works extremely hard as a real estate agent. Besides mom being busy, Regina has always been such a difficult child. 

"Mommy, my clothes are all messed up."

"Oh Regina! Why can't you be more responsible like your sister? The bus will be here any moment now. Raven, please help."

I didn't mind helping mom out with my sister, but as I helped her change into a clean T- shirt, she suddenly bit my hand.

Emma and I laughed as we ran along the beach and splashed each other in the ocean. Suddenly we heard a howl like a banshee.

“Quick, run!”

We disappeared into a cave as the owner of the howl searched for us.

Growing up in a desert was fun. Everyone praised me for the unique blue-green colour of my eyes. But I didn’t care about that, I was always a more outdoorsy type. Out of all the kids on our campsite, I could build the tallest sand castle and all the other kids would have a blast kicking it down. That was the fun part. 

While I was this fun popular kid, there was this one day that really made my blood boil where I saw a shy girl sitting by herself and then two other boys threw sand all over her hair so I went to her rescue.

"Hey what is wrong with you rugrats?"

"Leave us alone Jasmine or else we will dig a hole and put you in it."

"Oh yeah? I dare you."

The boys looked into my fierce eyes and then changed their minds because they knew how crazy I could get.

“WOO! TURN UP THE MUSIC!”

We all got lit as the music got louder and the party got crazier. I was dancing my butt off when suddenly a waiter tripped over and caviar covered me from head to toe. There was even some caviar in my nostrils!

“UGH! WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING!”

“I’m so sorry Sir!”

Suddenly everyone started laughing and pointing at me. I was so embarrassed. I turned to my girlfriend, Siri, for help.

“Babe! Please help me clean up.”

“What, are you kidding? I’m not getting anywhere near you, you reek of fish eggs.”

“But.. but..”

Siri got up and walked away, leaving me all alone.

The girl who had tricked me laughed with tears rolling down her eyes at my stupidity. 

"Hmph. That wasn't very nice of her."

"Don't pay her any mind, Selene. Sometimes in this world people will try to trick you and take advantage of you, but it's up to you to decide who you can trust, and who you can't trust."

"Come on, girl! We're almost there." 

Two arrows whizzed passed my ears while another grazed my shoulder. I winced in pain, but we had to keep moving. I steered Gaia skillfully between the trees as the sounds of hooves closed in on us. 

"There she Is! Get her!"

Soon, we came upon a waterfall, which was one of many ways into our village, and rode right through it.

Hi, my name is Nalini and I’m from Hawaii.

I grew up in a village with my papa, Chief Matanui, and my older sister, Kimo. Kimo and I were best friends and we did everything together.  Our warriors are feared by many surrounding villages as we take their food, livestock and valuables for ourselves. We were the second strongest village on the island, the first was Chief Keanu’s village, who we steered clear of because their warriors overpowered us by ten to one. 

On Kimo’s 18th birthday, Papa told Kimo that she was going to get married. ™

“Papa! I’m not going to marry Chief Keanu’s son!”

“Kimo, as the daughter of the Chief, you are obligated to do whatever is required to ensure a better future for your village.”

My love for antiques started ever since I was a child, mom worked at the biggest museum in the City, and with it came my hobby of playing make believe.

Just then, mom knocked at my bedroom door and walked in before I told her to.

My mom behaves like a child stuck in an adult's body. 

It's so annoying. But when I noticed the dress she was wearing I felt steam come out of my ears. 

"My dress!? It's about to burst at the seams!"

"Time for my date, and make sure to make dinner!"

"Make dinner!? You were in the kitchen for hours!"

I just loved playing dress up with Sophie. Even though she’s a panda, she is my best friend.

Believe it or not, my whole family has dedicated their lives to protecting these pandas. We crash landed here ages ago. 

My parents loved me a lot, but sometimes I felt they were so secretive especially about the locked treasure chest they have hidden away.

Mom teaches me everyday from home and I love all my subjects, since mom makes it soooo much fun to learn.

Going to school with a panda meant I had to count fast. Sometimes the lessons were over before they started.
