Welcome back for episode 14 of The Str8 Up Games Podcast. We're without our master of noise Graham this week who is enjoying a well deserved holiday to Bahrain so please ignore our audio mishaps and bad editing. In his place is our long time friend and Scotland's best export after Grand Theft Auto V and Irn Bru, MrFrazzle. 

We're sticking to our usual format of what we've been playing which has mostly been involving wands and the Wizard World of Hogwarts Legacy, a trading card classic from the year 2000, Apex Legends (miss u Titanfall 2, pls text back) and Valheim. Off of the vikings. 

We're tackling some sad news for video games retail, a mixed bag of reviews for the much anticipated Atomic Heart and a cool piece of AI that could become the industry standard for keeping console players safe from the far superior mouse and keyboard veterans. 

Our rotating segment this week takes us on a trip down memory lane to our time with GAME and we tackle the minefield that is setting out in content creation, be that on Twitch or right here in the world of Podcasts.

Huge news this week, with the announcement that the big 3 have pulled out of E3 we're wondering if anyone can tackle Geoff and the World Premiere machine or if we'll ever get Turkey Legs and Sweet Rolls in person again? Cancelled Titanfall causes a few tears. Star Wars is out on the same day as Dead Island 2 now, which means it will be the only game out that day.

Coming in hot from the Xbox Developer_Direct, we're discussing all of the great news that came out of the green team this week. 

We're chatting our usual in What We've Been Playing with no surprise at all to see us playing Goldeneye 007, for England no less. Lots of dancing along to Hi-Fi Rush and the addiction continues with Vampire Survivors for Carrick. 

News this week is dominated by Phil Spencer giving us a lot more context and taking some ownership about a quiet 2022 from Xbox; the weak launch for Forspoken and some potential worries over Starfield and Redfall following some accurate looking leaks.

Merry Christmas, from the Str8 Up Games gang! 

Twas the episode before Christmas and all through the studio, not a creature was stirring until Carrick said he'd never played Ocarina of Time and Graham and Mickee had a melt down. So what if that doesn't rhyme, it's the shamiest Pile of Shame entry we've ever had. Santa is definitely not going to Carrick's house this year. 

Aside from the obviously outrageous, we're back to what we've been playing, dropping some news bombs and chatting all kinds of nonsense with each other! Vampire Survivors claims another addict, Somerville reviews are in from G and Carrick has sniffing every blade of grass in Pokemon Violet. 

Outside of our usual format it's time for some Festivities. We're talking Christmas Day memories for all 3 of us, our favourite winter levels and  festive games. Grab a mince pie, stick your party hat on and join us for the last episode of the year. 

A huge thank you for the literal hundreds of downloads we've had. We started this podcast without a clue about how to do it and we've learned a lot in the 7 episodes so far.  We have huge plans for 2023, with a drive to build a community, interact with those of you who've been with us for every episode so far and anyone else who joins along the way. We plan to have guest spots and interviews, new features to get involved in and who knows, maybe a cheeky little bit of merch to don on some new media formats.

A big chunky Game Awards debrief for Episode 6 of the Str8 Up Games Podcast.
