Welcome to Episode 5 of the Str8 Up Games Podcast and the first in a 2 part run through of the The Game Awards.
A reminder that we're on Instagram and Twitter @str8upgames where you can find all kinds of content from the show.
This week we dance around the games we've been playing and with credits rolled on Ragnarök, it's time to move onto some new ventures. There's a drunken virtual reality night, some comments about the hilarious Soccer Story and The Very Mediocre Spiderman.
A quick unpack of some news includes the first game to release on Unreal Engine 5.1 equipped with Geralt of Rivia, Doom Guy and the Incredible Hulk smashing through 300,000 polygons of a very shiny tree in Fortnite Season 4. We also discuss the price rise on first party Xbox titles and what that means for their promise of continuing support for the Xbox One and Smart Delivery.
Most importantly we've arrived at the station, ready to board the hype train that is The Game Awards. We've picked 10 categories to chat through and make predictions for and we'll see how many winners we get right once the show airs. From Game of the Year to Best Mobile Game, we talk through the contenders and why we think Tunic should win the lot. Added to 10 official categories are 3 of our own, we predict announcements we might see on the night in Most Likely, Most Wanted and Wildcard Pick.
Be sure to tune in next week for our debrief episode where we'll find out how right our predictions were and probably scrape our minds up off the floor having been blown by all of the cool new announcements.

It's time for episode 4 of the Str8 Up Games Podcast! We no longer have the sniffles or coughs so we should be a little easier on the ears this week.
We've been playing much of the same with a 1993 classic thrown in there that has us wondering if it was all a dream? It's been a slow news week as everyone prepares to blow minds at the Game Awards but there was still some gems out there. We chat about the next-gen update to Geralt and Co that will make a lot of Witcher fans happy, an F-Zero protype that sounds like just about as much fun as you can have with a Nintendo Online subscription and we fantasise about a world in which all DC games and movies exist on the same timeline.
We talk each other through some gaming music that has touched our hearts in one way or another. We follow Carrick on a teary eyed horse ride through the desert in Red Dead Redemption, appreciate Grant Kirkhope in all his genius and his take on a popular children's nursery rhyme to set the scene of Grunty's Lair in Banjo-Kazooie and labour our way up an exceptionally long ladder in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in probably the best Bond theme that never was.
To save chatting about GTAV multiple times in a row, we're making the shift from the Metacritic Top 100 to the IGN list instead, in the Pile of Shame. Number 100 takes us back to the planet of Pandora in a game that promised guns, guns and more guns - Borderlands 2.
Please drop us a follow and any shares are massively appreciated. Enjoy!

Welcome back to another episode of the Str8 Up Games Podcast. If listening to 2 thirds of a podcast team sniff and cough their way through a 1 hour episode is your kind of thing then boy, do we have a treat for you.
This week we have a few grumbles about our permanent residence in the Nine Realms, take a trip to 1994 to solve the millennial housing problem and blindly ignore all of the bugs the Paldea region has to offer in "What We've Been Playing".
We light a candle for 10 years of Wii U and talk about the upcoming triple B games that will see out the year, including a train with the legs of a spider, more marvel releases and hype around the Callisto Protocol has us revisit the USG Ishimura in the year 2508. That's right, Marty...We're going back to the future.
The pile of shame moves on to Number 98 with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and we play a child's gaming toy that has ripped off some well loved Nintendo tunes in an unbelievable way!

Welcome back to another episode of the Str8 Up Games Weekly Podcast. We're in a new venue this week with a much improved audio setup! We're still learning and it's great that you're here to see out the tutorial and get into that juicy first level alongside us.
This week we properly introduce ourselves, try not to have a meltdown on air about playing God of War Ragnarök and compare our personal predictions with the newly announced Game Awards 'Game of the Year' nominees.
As always, we pick apart some gaming news that caught our eye this week and move on to number 99 in the top 100 video games. Will it make our pile of shame or will we all just hold hands with a tear in our eye as we take a trip back to Columbia?
There's Always A Lighthouse, Always A Man, Always A City...always Str8 Up Games... what, too cheesy?

Welcome to the Str8 Up Games Weekly Podcast. Stick with us through this pilot episode, where our audio is a little way off where we'd like to be. Next week we'll have a new space and a new setup to give your ears a little holiday.
We hope you'll join us to hear about why we started this podcast, how the 3 of us met and, as a first episode special, we take a trip down memory lane to chat about our first video game memories.
All of that and the first entry into a weekly format we hope you'll love. We each bring a piece of news to unpack, chat about what we've been clocking hours into for the past 7 days and we also begin our weekly "Pile of Shame" journey through the Top 100 video games of all time.
Thanks for listening!
