Today, I spent 8 hours with veterans in recovery. It was a very emotional yet fulfilling day. To hear their stories of trauma, addiction, betrayal, growth, education, and life. This is that story.

This is the beginning of my story. Not sure how many parts it will be but this is the first installment. I talk about my drinking days, waking up in strange places, black outs, coming to terms with being an alcoholic, and what got me to my first AA meeting.
