  • 230: WWE Takes on the Coronavirus - What Should They Do About WrestleMania?
    Recorded 3/12/20.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in the NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, XFL, March Madness, and more college sports suspending events and/or completely canceling them. So why is it that WWE's WrestleMania is still scheduled to go on in Tampa on April 5? They've already canceled a house show in Ohio, but what do they need to do next? Their statement on March 12 reads:
"While we remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that it is cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues. The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay."
Certainly reads like they're not going to cancel it unless they're forced to. Now they're currently the outlier - is it worth it? What happens to WrestleMania? Is it canceled? Is it moved? Is it postponed to a later date? The guys discuss.
Also, remember when you were a kid and loved wrestling growing up? What caused adults to become so jaded that they hate-watch wrestling now? At the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view this past week in Philly, Vaughn and his daughter went to the show and his daughter loved it. After all, WWE's product is mostly for the kids, right? The guys discuss their fandom, how it's changed, and why kids might fall in love with the spectacle so much at a younger age, just to become jaded - like us! - when they grow up.

  • 229: MJF's Heel Work Too Much? Elimination Chamber and More
    Recorded 3/5/2020.
AEW made the mainstream this week, and we're pretty sure they're thrilled about it.
MJF flipped off a 7-year-old kid at a meet-and-greet in Chicago, and it made national headlines. Some thought it was a heel going too far, and some thought it was a heel being a heel. This week, we discuss our opinions on the situation and whether or not hiding behind the "wrestling heel" excuse is enough in 2020.
Elimination Chamber also comes to Philly this weekend. We go through the card in like two minutes.

  • 228: Why is Bill Goldberg the Universal Champion? AEW on fire heading into Revolution
    Recorded 2/27/2020.
We have once again lived through a mind-numbing decision by Vince McMahon - this time, to put the Universal Championship back on Bill Goldberg. Not only that, but Goldberg defeated one of the hottest acts in WWE today, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia.
    Why? Just why?
And AEW's next pay-per-view, Revolution, is this weekend. Emanating from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, it's stacked from top to bottom. The guys go over the card and their predictions for what will happen at the event.

  • 227: Cody's Legend Growing; Ruthless Aggression Era Revisionist History and More
    Recorded 2/20/2020.
Episode 227! Vaughn Johnson (@VaughnMJohnson) and Nick Piccone (@nickpiccone) discuss the legend of Cody Rhodes and how it's just growing in All Elite Wrestling. Has anybody benefited from AEW more than Cody at this point? The guys discuss just how great he's been so far in AEW and what his future could hold.
WWE Network's new Ruthless Aggression documentary has been highly anticipated, and a few episodes dropped this week. What's funny is that they completely glossed over the biggest reason the WWE had to change their name from WWF. No mention of the World Wildlife Fund at all. Why? Is it something they can't do legally? The guys discuss.

  • 226: Wednesday Night War Over? WrestleMania returns to LA, When to Philly?
    Recorded 2/13/2020.
Vaughn Johnson (@VaughnMJohnson) and Nick Piccone (@nickpiccone) discuss the latest ratings in the battle for Wednesday Night wrestling supremacy, as Vaughn declares the Wednesday Night War over! However, Nick doesn't necessarily agree. Listen as the two make their cases.
With WrestleMania returning to Los Angeles in 2021, the guys discuss where they think WrestleMania will wind up in the proceeding years, all the way to 2026, where they both think Philly has a good chance of landing WWE's premier event.
Goldberg is returning to face "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. Will they really put the gold back on Goldberg just for a WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns? The guys talk about it.
And why does Nick hate Tampa so much?

  • 225: The Evolution of the WWE Network; What's Next?
    Recorded 2/7/2020.
Vaughn Johnson (@VaughnMJohnson) and Nick Piccone (@nickpiccone) react to Vince McMahon's and WWE interim CFO Frank Riddick's earnings conference call on Thursday. A huge item that was brought up was the possibility of WWE selling their PPV's to bigger streaming distributors in the near future. It seems like there already might be smoke.
The guys discuss their thoughts on the current WWE Network, how they think it's adapted over the years, their favorite parts of it, least favorite parts, and whether or not WWE can get fans to pay more than  $9.99 for PPVs anymore given the last six years has made it completely normal to pay $9.99 for a PPV.

    Recorded 2/1/2020.
Vaughn Johnson (@VaughnMJohnson) and Nick Piccone (@nickpiccone) discuss WWE's corporate shake-up, WWE's terrible production itinerary that includes camera cuts to the crowc during very, very important moments, Naomi's return that got social media talking, and a racist Royal Rumble?
