We came! We came to. We came to believe. A WILLINGNESS to believe a power greater than human power could restore us to sanity is the only requirement of the Second Step.

Alcoholism is often spoken of as a disease. In truth it is a mental illness rooted in a spiritual malady. The 12 Steps are a program of spiritual psychotherapy that restores the alcoholic to sanity.

The Twelve Steps of Alcoholic Anonymous have been proven to work for over 80 years with a success rate of 67 percent or better. Nothing has been proven to work better than the Steps. Yet, treatment centers have formulated their own message and alcoholics and addicts who adopt it fail mightily. By their own admission only 1 out of 13 who go to treatment find success.
