Time…The companion to the final frontier. We are back after a long hiatus. You might be asking, "Where have you been?" Well, after our last episode, Chris wanted me to investigate an unusual error he'd been encountering in the transporter system. Little did I know, this was merely a ruse to trap me in the transporter buffer, allowing him to abscond with a shuttlecraft for some kind of interstellar heavy metal festival or something.

Fortunately for me, my youngest cousin recently joined the crew and assumed the role of transporter chief. He managed to liberate me from my digital prison just in the nick of time. And now, we have a lot to discuss…

This week we are wrapping up season 2 of Discovery. The USS Discovery get into a full on brawl with Control, but with the aide of some unlikely pals, the manage to hold their own. Meanwhile, Micheal Burnham is forced to confront a brutal reality: her hair stylist has been replaced by a replicator. On top of that, we get what feels very much like a sneak preview of Strange New Worlds, even though the show hadn’t been planned yet.

Happy 2023 everybody. We all hope you had a great holiday season. This time of year, many of us find ourselves at parties with coworkers having conversations we wouldn’t normally have, and here aboard our starship, it’s no different. Occasionally you find yourself in a conversation that you were not prepared for, like when your new Transporter Chief officer says something like “I never understood the appeal of Star Trek”. Once we were all done hitting him with our Lirpas, we realized this could actually be used as a teaching moment. We invited our new Transporter Chief Eric to watch one of the best, if not the absolute best of the episodes from the original Star Trek, Balance of Terror.
