Aimee Spencer was a larger than life character, a modern woman who took on the world on her terms. One of her friends was Daniel Lewis, a spoilt rich kid from a newly wealthy family who had a lot of influence. Daniel was a high end drug dealer. At a party at his flat in Brighton in 2016,  Aimee plunged to her death from his flat, probably an accident.  Daniel faced court for his drug dealing but it has been suggested that his family influence got him a very reduced non custodial sentence. There are many unanswered questions in the case; however the readers of a local Brighton newspaper and probably Aimee's family forced a re-sentence. Partly a reflection on modern day society where the well connected and wealthy find it easier to avoid punishment in the courts for their wrongdoing. 
Having criticised Sussex police in the past, I am happy to to say that they did some good work in this case, although frustrated by the system.
