Today we’re going to be talking about something that’s followed us throughout our lives. Most of us grew up with them sprinkled throughout our childhood, through outlets including Disney, bedtime stories, fairy tales, and more. In fact, one particular character is the biggest and most well known figure of Disney. But, we’re not going to be talking about Tinker Bell! Rather, we’ll be talking about fairies, their origin, and what’s believed about them. Enjoy!

Welcome to a special, full length episode of the Archive. This won’t be for the faint of heart. However, if you enjoy hearing about this stuff, sit back, turn off the lights, and enjoy. With Matt absent for this week's episode, Ginge has recruited special guest BrownieInTheBin, a history and mystery streamer, to the show.

For nearly seven years across the 1980s, a woman was plagued by hundreds of harassing phone calls, threatening letters, and much worse. Many were skeptical of the authenticity regarding this harassment campaign, with law enforcement even accusing the supposed victim of fabricating the attacks, for one reason or another. In any event, this terrifying campaign of threats and harassment came to a head in 1989, when the victim inexplicably went missing, being found weeks later. This is a story you might be familiar with if you’ve watched the original Unsolved Mysteries TV show, and it’s a truly baffling case. This is the story surrounding the death of Cindy James.

In the fall of 1980, Genna Susan Sharp and her five children left their home after Sue’s marriage to husband James Sharp had fallen apart. They relocated from Connecticut to northern California, to be closer to where her brother Don was living at the time. Shortly after arriving in California, Sue rented Cabin 28 at the Keddie Resort in Keddie, a rural community in Sierra Nevada. Not long after moving in, Sue and three others would fall victim to a horrific act of violence within the walls of Cabin 28, sparking a lively debate surrounding the identity of the culprits, and the effectiveness of local law enforcement. For the debut of Matt's Mysteries, Strange Wilderness is proud to bring you the mystery surrounding the Keddie Cabin Murders.
In either 1947 or 1948, a strange and rather ominous distress signal was broadcast from somewhere along the Straits of Malacca. When an American vessel called the Silver Star reached the source of the signal, and boarded the ship it seemingly came from, they were shocked and disturbed by the scene that lay before them. What they found, and what happened next solidified this as a legendary maritime myth of sorts, with the story being told and retold to this day. The debate as to the purpose of the freighter and the fate of its crew continues to this day, with no answers in sight. This is the story of the mystery surrounding the Ourang Medan.

This is the story of a series of events that have happened to Matt over the past decade or so. What happened may or may not have just been a series of recurring dreams, spread out over nearly a decade, but there may be more to it. We feel as if these dreams have too many similarities to those who have allegedly been abducted by extraterrestrial beings to remain in the realm of an overactive subconscious imagination, and as such, believe that there is an extreme possibility that Matt may be a character, not unlike the ones described over the past few Call of the Void episodes, who has come into contact with something not of this world. Today, we’re looking at a personal set of encounters with extraterrestrials. This is the story of The Dreams.
In 1947, a newlywed couple and their friend travelled to Severn Falls, Ontario, for a relaxing honeymoon at a cottage up north. However, things would take a mysterious and tragic turn, as the cabin would go up in flames shortly after arriving. In a startling twist, one of the cottage goers was found dead, having drowned in just nine inches of water. The case of the Eight Day Bride remains unsolved to this day, and the circumstances and details surrounding it will leave one confused and disturbed. Joining us on this adventure is a close friend of the podcast, a ball of savage sass and fire, and all around smart person: Darkethena.

In the summer of 1997, a woman from the Philippines residing in Chicago brought something quite unique and strange to the attention of a local journalist. She claimed to have met and befriended a man who had given up his body to be used as a vessel by an ancient, extraterrestrial being. The man, called Eugene Randall, had been taken over by a 3,000 year old being called Shimikus Etua. What followed was nearly an hour long interview with this alleged entity, with a rough summary being published in NUFORC.org shortly thereafter. Today, let’s examine the story of Shimikus Etua, and the bizarre and somewhat eye-opening interview that followed.
