All people and organizations are faith-based. Faith in Christ is the hallmark of anyone who truly wants to live well and enjoy lasting success in God’s universe. Faith in human reasoning should be submitted to genuine faith in Christ. Since God makes the rules for His universe, organizations that achieve enduring success will be built by people of the Christian faith – people who demonstrate Christianity by their actions. Enduring organizational success is proportional to the degree that the organization’s members grow and mature in their faith in Christ. Therefore, management should make it a priority to lead workers by example to maturity in Christ.

Everyone is created by God with a purpose. Organizations fulfill their purpose by finding the right workers and enabling these workers to fulfill their purpose. When the people in an organization fulfill their individual purposes, the organization will fulfill its purpose. This is the principle of congruence. This reality is true of people with handicaps and/or disabilities. If an organization is called to hire someone with such a condition, then God has a purpose. The role of management is to trust the providence of God and seek to help all people in the organization, including the handicapped and disabled, to find and fulfill their purpose. Handicaps and disabilities are not impediments to the purpose of God; rather, these seeming impairments will be used by God to accomplish His will—many times by unexpected means. The key to unlocking this reality is to trust in the providence and intentionality of God.

To be successful, organizations must recognize that there is no randomness in God’s universe. Everything happens for a reason. Always seek to understand what the Lord is doing and align with Him. Ultimately all organizational challenges are tangible evidence of God’s work. Our role is to discover what He is communicating through circumstances and respond appropriately.

Regarding career development, help workers to find and fulfill the purpose of God in their lives. Again recognize that God is the author of all circumstances—there is no random chance. God has a purpose for the workplace because He made people specifically to work in His physical universe. Be diligent to help people find and fulfill their divinely ordained purpose in the workplace. This is the best career development strategy of all and it has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with the sovereign purpose of God. To employ a worker outside his or her divinely ordained purpose is rebellion against God and abuse to the worker.

When facing economic calamity, humble yourself and submit to godly parents—natural and/or spiritual—who can guide you to alignment with biblical principles. In building organizations, look for people who are submitted to godly parents, both natural and spiritual. People who are truly submitted to parental authority will submit to workplace authority. They will be humble and teachable. One of their characteristics will be compliance to directions and receptivity to counsel from authority whether or not they agree and/or understand. Such people will make wise decisions that will lead to prosperity.
