In this episode we discuss our favorite genre of movies... HORROR. We take a look at two different but similar movies, The Exorcist and Session 9. Two equally compelling stories that fall on opposite ends of the film spectrum, one being a mass cultural sensation that has spurred multiple discussions and transcends generations and one lesser known, indie film with a cult following. Some topics covered include the paranormal, demonic possession, mental illness and a debate on how to pronounce HERETIC. Join us, if you dare!

The Exorcist:
One of the most profitable horror movies ever made, this tale of an exorcism is based loosely on actual events. When young Regan (Linda Blair) starts acting odd -- levitating, speaking in tongues -- her worried mother (Ellen Burstyn) seeks medical help, only to hit a dead end. A local priest (Jason Miller), however, thinks the girl may be seized by the devil. The priest makes a request to perform an exorcism, and the church sends in an expert (Max von Sydow) to help with the difficult job.
Session 9:
A tale of terror when a group of asbestos removal workers start work in an abandoned insane asylum. The complex of buildings looms up out of the woods like a dormant beast. Grand, imposing ... abandoned, deteriorating. The residents of Danvers, Massachusetts steer well clear of the place. But Danvers State Mental Hospital, closed down for 15 years, is about to receive five new visitors...
