Streamed & Screened: Movie and TV Reviews and Interviews

This weekend is all about... [say it with me] CANDYMAN... CANDYMAN... CANDYMAN... CANDYMAN... ok STOP!

But hey if horror ain't your thing we've also got John Cena and Lil Rel Howery in VACATION FRIENDS, a screwball couples comedy hitting Hulu, and the dark side of PBS's permed out peaceful painter Bob Ross in a documentary on Netflix.

Speaking of Netflix, He's all That, a gender-flipped reimagining of She's All That premieres this weekend and got us thinking about what movies we'd wanna see recast with opposites and why!

And... finally... we'll each take a whack at some of the latest movie news!

Below is our roundup of the movies we talk about, along with links to where you can stream them.

This week we talked about the new Nicolas Cage movie, Pig, chewed on the Anthony Bourdain documentary Roadrunner, and rounded up new releases worth checking out.

For the 'Staff Picks' section we went deep on our favorite Nic Cage movies and hopefully put a spotlight on a couple that are in need of a little more love.

And finally, we'll get into some of the latest movie news.

Here are the movies Bruce, Chris and Jared talk about with links to where you can stream them.

It's a pretty slow weekend for new releases, with only two to really highlight, but one of them is Black Widow which breaks the covid-induced two-year Marvel Cinematic Universe dry spell since Spider-Man: Far From Home hit theaters in July of 2019.

Since there's not much else to chat about, we wrangle ourselves a list of our fave films of the year so far.

And finally, we'll get into some of the latest movie news including an interesting profile of Paul Verhoeven.

So far as new releases go, this weekend is all about F9, which Bruce, Chris and Jared make sure to touch on, but there are also some interesting movies hitting streaming services that get highlighted as well.

Then, with Liam Neeson's latest middlebrow action flick, The Ice Road, hitting Netflix, the time is ripe to celebrate some perhaps lesser known Neeson films that are well worth tracking down.

And, finally: The latest movie news!
