Bethany is the first African American woman to offer home birth and a birth center in the Upstate. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife with over 15 years of experience working with mamas and women's health. She began her journey as a labor and delivery nurse but made her way into Midwifery Care, with 10 years' experience in the field today. During her career, she has delivered 700 babies!! Now THAT is impressive. Bethany touches on the importance of the relationship between mama and midwife, and how to choose the right midwife for you. She shares her first birth experience with us and also gives some tips on how to avoid the 'fear of birth.' For so many women, the anxiety of their delivery follows them throughout their pregnancy, but Bethany recommends research be done in advance to help comfort the new mom. Along with prenatal care and delivery, she also provides an array of women's health services.
