Episode 183 of the podcast is all about sending your horse away for training and how to make that decision. I am in the process of deciding whether I should be sending Diesel for training or not. In this episode, I go into the things that you should consider before sending your horse away and what I've decided for Diesel.
On today's episode of the podcast, we are discussing training advice from Ray Hut and Buck Brannaman, arguably two of the most influential horsemen to ever live. If you're wanting to progress in your horse training, it's always good to look to those who have mastered the craft and those two gentlemen certainly have!.
.
After that discussion, we talk about the key principles of training the core for equestrians.
.
And then we wrap up the episode with a quick run through what you should be doing if you want to make progress with your riding abilities without being under the constant eye of a professional coach.

It's simple, but definitely not easy, to become a better rider. There are things that you can implement into your daily life that can help make your riding progress skyrocket. Are those things easy to do? In a lot of cases, no. But it will be worth the battle when you can look back in 6 months, a year, or 5 years from now and see how far you have come as a rider.
.
In today's episode, I talk about the things that I will be implementing into my own life to start to see my riding improve (which I admit has been a bit stagnant for quite a few years at this point!). I also talk about some misconceptions that people have when it comes to improving their riding that, if you believe them, could prevent you from improving as a rider.

It has been VERY smoky in Alberta and the health of my horses has been top of mind as I've watched the air quality get worse and worse. In today's episode I talk about all things as it pertains to horses and smoke.

I feel like I've hit a bit of a training/riding plateau with Diesel and that's exactly what we're talking about today: the different types of plateaus that riders might experience and strategies for getting through it.
.
Being in a plateau can be incredibly frustrating. You might be working hard but it feels like it's all for nothing.
.
If that's you, please don't despair. You will get through it and the strategies that I share in this episode will help you to do just that.

It was terrible and I don't wish anyone to be in that situation.

If you're struggling with confidence on the back of a horse, this episode might help.

Balance doesn't exist for a non-pro reiner. There are always times when you need to compromise and that's the topic of today's episode of the podcast. Whether you are a super professional or are trying to juggle a busy family, we all know that striking the perfect balance where all areas of our life are 100% taken care of just doesn't happen.
.
Coming out of tax season as a public accountant, I am BURNT OUT. On top of that, my horses also aren't in the best condition either. I talk about how I deal with that on today's episode. Enjoy :)
