Leslie Barry is my friend in real life. She is high-energy and very passionate about people. She is also refreshingly authentic and has such a tender heart. I have learned a lot from her example and I wanted you to hear from her as well!
Elizabeth considers herself "a poster child for children from divorced families." Experiencing divorce at three different ages and stages while growing up, she regularly witnessed marital strife that came from addiction, abuse, abandonment, and general dysfunction. Now a mother of five (three biological, one adopted, and one foster child), Elizabeth has made it her life mission to mend the broken branches of her own family tree through God's redemption, while equipping and encouraging other mothers in the areas of marriage, foster care, and faith.
The biggest fear for any parent is the death of a child. Tragically, Amy has experienced this twice, first with her son Simon in May of 2014, then again in November 2014 with her son Thomas. Now, Amy is using her experience to help other moms who are struggling with the loss of their babies during pregnancy or infancy through the You Made Me Mom support group. She is also the mother of three earthly children - Teddy, Peter, and her fifth child, due this fall.
We are so glad you're tuning into this episode. These will be moments well-spent as we cover armadillo safety, how Rebecca thinks she's scored more points with God than I have, and how woefully behind I am when it comes to pop-culture and social media. Mandy never saw herself as a designer, but when a homemade t-shirt started getting attention from friends, it became clear that God had other plans for her. She now operates Milk and Honey Tees, a home-based business that creates stylish, comfortable tees with meaningful messages. A portion of every Milk and Honey Tees sale supports Africa New Life's Dream Beauty Academy - a program that offers job training, childcare, and discipleship to vulnerable women in Rwanda.
Brandy is a girl who experienced the unthinkable as a 10 year old girl. She has labored on behalf of the loved ones of the roughly 117 people who die by suicide each day in the United States. She wrote the resource she wished she had when her mom died. Her story is hard but God has proven himself to be a Healer in the midst of so many broken hearts.
Heather's goal is to equip parents in the pursuit of intentional parenting. She knows learning is really fun and wants others to get that too! Her wants to raise world changers who passionately love God, love others, and delight in the adventure of learning. She recently created a resource you'll love for your boys on the topic of chivalry!
This girl is just so much fun! She led out and started something years ago the rest of us (and the rest of her neighborhood) "meant" to do and just never found the time for. Well, once Kristin prioritized hospitality and getting to know her neighbors, lives started being impacted in a big way. You're going to learn so many practical hospitality tips that prove, once again, that having people over doesn't have to freak you out. Friendly warning: you're probably going to want a picnic table at the end of this episode.
In this Episode we discover Rebecca is kind of a big deal in the decorating world. We also know she doesn't like mid-century decor but she doesn't mind if YOU do. I talk about a decorating fail I had where a sweet sentiment turned inappropriate in an instant.
