This week we continue on with our interview of herbalist Anne de Courtenay.  We specifically ask her to define what types are natural remedies are there during these troubled times.  We also rant a bit about the current political landscape and introduce the song Your Smile, plus a favorite She's Going to Change the World.

Anne de Courtenay is an accomplished writer and editor.  A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, de Courtenay uses her writing and editing skills in the field of herbal medicine and education.

Anne de Courtenay’s studies in clinical herbalism began in 2003 in Chicago, beginning with a basic set of 60 Western plants. That selection grew to hundreds of botanical medicines, spanning traditions from China, India and the West. The confluence of her expertise in herbalism and her degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern led her to edit books for such renowned herbalists as Michael and Lesley Tierra, Peter Holmes, and Jonathan Treasure. She also was the editor of the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild for four years. Anne still utilizes her editing talents in the field of herbalism.

Anne studied and taught at the East West School of Planetary Herbology in California and at the Chicago College of Healing Arts. She earned a diploma in Asian Body Therapy from the NCCAOM in 2010. She owned and managed Imagine Health, a multidisciplinary complementary medicine clinic in Lincoln Square, for five years until shortly after the birth of her daughter. She continues to serve the plant and human world by educating and herbal consultation.

Welcome to Strung Out, where we pioneer a bit of "Rock n' Rant".  This week we start to pick apart partisanship, starting at the idea of how to create dialogue with some clearly on the opposite fence of you, while not drawing a gun.   Our special guest is here for this episode and next week's episode as well.

Anne de Courtenay is an accomplished writer and editor.  Graduating from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, de Courtenay focused her skills not only in public relations work  (with an emphasis on social media) but also used her degree along with her education in the world of western and Chinese herbal medicine.

She owned and managed Imagine Health, a multidisciplinary complementary medicine clinic in Lincoln Square for five years until shortly after the birth of her daughter. Now she offers herbal consultations by appointment from her home.

Next week, de Courtenay will bring her herbal skills to the fore, when she discusses remedies that can help during these trying times.

We also introduce a new song, called "She's Going To Change the World."  A Youtube version of the song is also available for view.
