The reactions of the neighbors and the Pharisees to the healing of the man born blind are divided.

But the man is not divided.  He progresses from simply describing the miracle, to declaring Jesus is a prophet, to professing faith in Jesus!

The text challenges us to ask what we believe about the miracles of Jesus.  It also challenges us to confront legalism and stand strong in faith.

Ultimately it asks, "Do you believe?"

Blessed are those who walk in the law of the Lord!

Jesus said he was working while it was day for night was coming.  He only had a limited time on earth to work, so he must keep working.

The same is true for us; we only have a limited time to serve the Lord.  Therefore let us work while it is day!

Genuine faith manifests itself in a changed life.

Knowing the truth sets us free.  Jesus came to liberate lost sinners

As Peter denied Jesus three times, three times Jesus asked, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?"

Three times, Peter responded yes; and three times Jesus commanded Peter to be obedient "Feed or Tend to my sheep or lambs."
