What a difference a week makes!

At the beginning of the week Jesus is celebrated, but by the end of the week he is crucified and then comes resurrection and ultimate victory!

What will you do with Jesus who is called the Christ?

The Church has often been plagued with Legalism on one extreme and Hypocrisy on the other.

The solution is to learn that we are all saved by faith alone and even that faith is a gift from God.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good (v. 8)

Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, (v. 9)

God is good; but God must also be revered!

To quote Mr. Beaver in C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe,"  "'Course he isn't safe.  But he's good.  He's the King, I tell you."

Bless the Lord at all times!  Praise the Lord continually!

The Gospel is not the invention of humankind but a revelation from God through Jesus.

If humankind had invented it, it wouldn't have lasted.

Besides we would never have made up such a Gospel.

Further, if we had made it up, it wouldn't change us.

There is great unity between God's Word and God's Works!

What about us?

We are all in some ways "Recovering Pharisees."  We are all tempted to think we can earn salvation; tempted to think we can tip the scales with our good outweighing our bad.

Even if we know we're saved by grace; we're still tempted to try to add human effort to grace.

Psalm 33:1-3

Praise should flow out of a life of gratitude!
