The Rock of Ages!

Leaders often face  opposition especially when some significant endeavor is nearly complete.  In Nehemiah's case the opposition came by: distractions, rumors, and intimidation.

Learn how Nehemiah dealt with the opposition and finished well!

God is our Protector, our Refuge, our sure foundation!

Nehemiah continues to face opposition.  He addressed it by backing off; then standing up; and ultimately leading by example.

All Leaders Face Opposition.  The issue is how they face it.  Nehemiah faced it by: praying; continuing to do what he knew was right; and making proper adjustments.

Psalm 17 invites us to examine our hearts to see if there is any unrepentant sin in our lives, before we come to God with our requests.  At the same time, it reminds us that the One to whom we make our requests is the One who loves us beyond measure!

Nehemiah assembled the people needed for the task.  He set clear objectives.  He delegated work.  He chose the right people for each task.  He gave credit where credit was due.

Psalm 16, verse 10 in particular, is prophecy of the resurrection of Jesus.  His body did not see decay for he was raised on the third day.  Jesus' resurrection assures us of our resurrection!

Focusing on Psalm 16:1-2, we see three names for God used.  The names remind us that God is the "Mighty One;" the "Sacred One" and "Lord."
