Steve Cully with UConn Football legendary QB Shane Stafford talk about the future of college sports with the rise of NIL and TV money being paid to players.
We discuss the NCAA not being able to regulate anything. College Football expanded the playoffs to 14 teams and guaranteed 4 spots to the SEC and Big 10 conferences.
The playing field is growing wider but Shane said that started in the 90's when the SEC began to take over college football. He thinks this isn't anything new, the SEC has controlled everything forever.
We debate the QB situations for the Jets and Giants, what directions should each team go in? Also Aaron Rodgers after being cut by the Jets, will he play again? Does he want to? And who would actually sign him? Another great Festivus!
The VOICE OF REASON Frank Cristiano, Coach David Schuman, and I talk about how Trump has made sweeping changes over his first month in office, including freeing POWs from the Israel-Hamas conflict, trimming the fat, and spending less on programs that are not helping people. The audits are showing trillions of dollars being mismanaged, of course. Trump could not resist taking a dig at Talor Swift after her Cheifs lost in the Superbowl. All this and more on a wild Rebel Republic!
In this episode, Daniel Colabufo of the Oswego St Lakers Men’s Hockey Team joins the show! He discusses the season so far, being a leader on a team with a young roster, playing for his father, legendary West Genesee Wildcats Head Coach Frank Colabufo, the stability of the Oswego St program, and much more!
We review the Super Bowl on Festivus with co-host Shane Stafford, legendary QB at UConn, who knows how the Eagles won and the simple game plan they put together.
Festivus is back with Steve Cully and UConn Legendary QB Shane Stafford to recap the week in sports.
The big news in the NBA came from the Lakers trading Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Donic that sent shockwaves through the NBA. Shane thought it was a fair deal because the Mavericks believe they can win now. While the Lakers have their player for the future at 25 years old who can eventually succeed Lebron James.
We also talked about the NFL where the Superbowl will be played between Kansas City and Philadelphia. KC has won a record 11 one score games this season, Philly has been powered by Saquan Barkley. We give our analysis and picks, also will be doing a live watchalong party during the game.
This and more on Steve Cully's Festivus of Sports.
Dave Schuman, Frank Cristiano and I talk about the week in politics. The tariff controversy, ICE working to remove illegals, cutting DEI programs while also publicly displaying how much we are spending on other programs, while giving money to other countries. Frank and Dave believe we need to help our own country first before doing all this spending on programs that make no sense. Trump is trimming the fat as they say and putting his focus on producing more oil. Energy and gas prices are key for us to decrease inflation and jumpstart the economy.
