There is something truly fascinating about this gripping drama about a group of young people in their late 20s struggling against the writing pad as they try to deliver a cheeky millennial work that they can sell to a big publisher. Varric Tethrass tells us the story of a young man and his confidante in the middle of the night.
Hightown's Season 1 is now in its third and final season, and hopefully, the second season can be improved. I'll stick with it until it really reveals what its potential is, but there's still a lot of time until it's ready for a second and third season.
Ultimately, Hightown is part of a summer television series - which isn't funny enough, especially when more exciting shows return to the small screen. The schedule is thin and instantly forgotten, with only a handful of great shows on the schedule, and none worth watching.
However, if you are interested in a crime thriller that has a flawed character and strange leading characters, then you must watch it.
There's nothing blatantly wrong with that, so I wanted to watch the episode and get intoxicated - even after Starz aired the episode. If a show is great, it wins an audience, but if it isn't, critics have to prove it's something that shouldn't be actively watched, and to a lesser extent Hulu or HBO has.
Hightown wants viewers to believe that finding the body of a young woman is Jackie's wake-up call, but most of the sixth episode is spent looking for non-narcotic ways to treat this new pain. Instead of keeping a good pace, we are being chased through a show that could easily become a comedy with the right dialogue and situations. The episode struggles to strike a balance between Jackie and her addiction history.
If you're interested in crime thrillers that have flawed characters and a strange lead actor, watch the Under The Radar show.
It's certainly a tough sell, especially when you have two unlikeable lead actors, but to be fair, the show lays some nice foundations to grow into. Over the course of eight episodes, there were times when I wish they would just delve a little deeper into the themes and characters.
I only saw the first episode, but I don't want to give too much credit to a show that's just started.
