"Did God really say....?" It's one of the most dangerous questions in the world. Just ask Adam and Eve. But it's just as dangerous to assume He said something that He didn't. This summer we're going to look at four things that a lot of people assume Jesus said, or at least implied. We'll open the Bible to see if He said it and how that impacts the way we live today.
This week we're kicking off with not so much a saying but an idea that gets thrown around by well meaning Christians from time to time. Namely that the words of Jesus (the ones in the red ink?) are the most important words in the Bible. The other parts are helpful, but if you don't get around to reading them, you won't miss much. But is that what Jesus taught? What should we think of the red letters, the black letters, the parts that make sense to us and the parts that don't?
