Kierstyn, Tinley, Andrea, Callie, Rylan, Cody, and Bekah team up to launch a new series, Pissed Off Pokes (aka the POP), where students are invited to vent about the less than pleasing facts about college life. We want to air it all out. In this pilot episode of the series, the crew talk amongst themselves about what is irking them this week, but for future episodes we will solicit input from our listeners about what has you feeling salty, crushed, upset, or just pissed off.

In Spring 2021, Pearse Nelson, a student enrolled in the class that produces the Stuff OSU Should Know podcast interviewed the teacher of the class, Dr. Seth Wood, about the history and potential future of his unusual course idea. Pearse conducted the interview to fulfill course requirements, and it turned into a long conversation about trends in higher education, the experience of students attending college, and how the Covid-19 pandemic had effected the relationship between the two. This is an excerpt from the beginning of that conversation that describes the teaching philosophy behind the course idea and explains how the unorthodox plan of the class relates to the "add-on" curriculum of the Honors College at OSU.

In this episode the SOSK crew interviews students from Professor Ross's Honors Comp service-learning class, who have been working to bring some much needed attention to a new resource on OSU's campus, Pete's Pantry, "a student run initiative that advocates for reducing the amount of food insecurity across our campus and meeting the basic needs of the campus community." We ask them who can use Pete's Pantry (spoiler: everyone), how to use Pete's Pantry, and how it helps create more food security and general wellness for the campus as a whole. Check it out, and go visit Pete's Pantry this Fall!
