A Heated Rivalry podcast from Down Under. Cara and Kendal recap what's been happening in the world of HR on a weekly-ish basis.

It's the day before Halloween and Cara and Kendal are dressed respectively as Connor Storrie dancing to Like a Prayer in Gold's Gym tee and blue short shorts, and Hudson Williams at the Met Gala after party (also in short shorts).

A Heated Rivalry podcast from Down Under. Cara and Kendal recap what's been happening in the world of HR on a weekly-ish basis.

Apologies for the audio quality this time around – we were missing one lead that would have made our setup perfect, we had to use a workaround that was less than ideal. The video sounds better than the audio-only version (Buzzsprout's fault, it adds some kind of compression) But we hope you'll still enjoy our gabbing and come back next week... we promise it'll be better!

This week we introduce ourselves and the concept of the show.

Then in "Too Much, Too Good" we cover the latest in HudCon and other cast & creator appearances and news, including Connor Storrie @ Academy Museum Gala, Hudson in EW with Yaga cast, Sunrise appearance, I'll Believe In Anything book release and promo tour, Rachel Reid's tour, the Irina foundation, and Hudson's SKIN1004 routine & related memes. Phew!

In "Pod Pals" we shout out some fellow HR podcasts doing the lord's work, including The Puck (Pitt) Crew, Believe In Anything, Everyone Deserves Sunshine, Shelf Aware, Hyperfixation Hotline, Tonsil Hockey, Heated Archives.

In "Fanfiction Addiction" we give a little roundup of what we've been reading and share some recs:

• WIP new chapters: The B.E.A.R.S, Déjà Vu,
• "Big" fics – Re: hi by fleezerweezer, So it’s gonna be forever by Lila_Mac, Here at the end of all things by Nomadsland, Ilya R has been added to the group chat by Anonymous
• "Under the radar-ish fics" – Hollander, Baby by novel_di, I’m Coming to the Cottage (no not that one) by Greenginger, Who I am, not who I was by anyone__but_you (also ref'd Map Contact by Regolith (metonym)), Alone Together On The Ice by kz_barton

In Cottage Community we chat about the just announced Movie Marathons, ie watching all of S1 in cinemas.

Then we give our very fresh Yaga reactions (no spoilers, we actually don't talk about the plot much at all).

Thanks so much for checking out our first episode. We hope you enjoyed it.

In future we'll try to be better about linking to everything in the description, but we've at least named everything so you can look it up if you're curious. We'd rather get the episode out while the news is still fresh than spend another night adding links!
