  • From the Studio to Survival: A Radio Director’s Triumph Over Ovarian Cancer

Episode - 85 Style Moguls Podcast "From Studio to Survival: Radio Director’s Triumph Over Ovarian Cancer."In this empowering episode, we bring you the incredible journey of a true media powerhouse and survivor Sbba Siddique. September was Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month in the UK, and I am honoured to finally have my guest, a remarkable Pakistani South Asian woman who joins me. She’s a trailblazer in the broadcasting world, having served as Director of the esteemed Asian Star Radio in Slough, Berkshire. Now, she’s using her voice for an even greater cause: raising awareness about ovarian cancer, especially in South Asian communities where discussions around women’s health are often shrouded in silence. In the first half of our conversation, we dive deep into her impressive media career, where she’s shattered glass ceilings and built an inspiring legacy. With over 17 years of experience in radio, she shares behind-the-scenes stories, her leadership insights, and how she carved out a space for herself in a male dominated industry. But this episode isn’t just about professional triumphs. In the second half, we switch gears to hear her deeply personal battle with late stage ovarian cancer diagnosis that could have easily ended her journey. Instead, she fought back fiercely, refusing to be silenced. She opens up about how this experience nearly made her want to give up, but ultimately led her to use her platform to advocate for women’s health and break the taboos that exist around discussing our bodies. This episode is a powerful reminder: no matter your background or achievements, your health must always be a priority. Join us for a conversation that’s as inspiring as it is eye-opening. Make it your mission to take care of yourself because every woman’s story deserves to be heard.Share with all your friends, sisters, daughters, cousins, mothers, and aunties. Big Love and Blessings Maryum xxx

  • Refining Rules for the Next Generation

I had the privilege of meeting Zara Mohammed Secretary at a dinner a couple of months ago. Zara is the first female, youngest and first Scottish Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain.

Zara truly is inspirational and I was so impressed with her vision, dedication and humour, so of course i simply had to have her on the show.
I know you will love this episode, as it comes from the heart, full of passion and strength.
Zara is an incredible role model for young Muslims and especially for our next generation of Muslim women. I applaud Zara for her courage to break old stereotypes and change perceptions of Muslims in the United Kingdom.
As a teacher and have worked in education and especially with mentoring young people over 15 years I know we can all make a difference. We all can contribute our skill, time and energy in volunteering to our own local communities and help in shaping and bettering young peoples lives as a collective.
I encourage all my Muslim sisters to use their voice and share their personal experiences, you never know who you inspire with your story.
I pray Allah gives Zara success and reward for all her efforts, Ameen.
I look forward to supporting her on this incredible journey.!
    Keep tuned! 👍
