  • Ep 53 - The Merovingian of Mischief, ROBNASTY!!!
    A little breakfast, brunch, and or Lunch (Depending on where you are at) special for that ass! In today's episode Ozzy is on sabbatical in the great land of Arizona so I (Turnstyle) is holding down the fort. So I decided to have a lil party with the infamous Rob Nasty and go so deep into the weeds that we'll need a tow truck to bring us back 😂. Rob Nasty is a dancer who specializes in Rockdance from the San Francisco Bay area and is a modern day renaissance ronin. He is also musician, martial artist, filmmaker and political pyrotechnician Mr. Nasty has had his finger on the pulse of dance culture since the 90s. Rob waxes poetic about Hip Hop and Rockdance as far as culture vs aesthetic, self marketing, politics, using ones art to serve your rather than take away and all kinds of other crazy shit! Please excuse the crunchy sounds as Rob was wearing a down vest and his Mic kept bumping it as he fidgeted about in his prolific-ness. This was a fun interview and if y'all thought Turnstyle could rant...in the great words of Sam Jackson, "hold on to ya butts"! Enjoy

    Hey hey dance fiends! In this lovely episode of SND we welcome Quincy aka QKong (dancer and co-creator/promoter of Bashville) to our humble podcast. In fine fashion we go all over the place (thanks Turnstyle ) and talk about advice for throwing events, Quincy's background and how he got into breaking/house dancing, Bashville, training tips to save the knees, icebaths, shadow work, the metaverse, Costa Rican stem cells and all kinds of other groovy stuff....it was a great convo from one of our dance fam from the great land of Tennessee where apparently heads down there are into some new thing called "country music"

    Happy new year! This is the first guest of 2022 on StylesNDris...the one, the only...Michael "Sneeks" Lim of the illustrious Chicago Tribe! Sneeks is a well known b-boy, house dancer and jam(event) promoter who came up through the 90's. We jab about house music/dance, bitter O.G.'s, Sneeks contribution and influence on the Midwest breaking and house dancing scenes, personal responsibility and how to apply the skills we learned from these scenes to serve us in everyday life. Turnstyle talks about the concept of angry locking, Ozzy inquires about where house dance is going and why NY style house dancing is the dominating aesthetic instead of Chicago. Sneeks is a gracious guest and we will definitely have him on again since we didn't even mention his DJ background so this is prolly gonna be the first of many.
