What is it that keeps Rocket League alive? The new mechanics discovered by the likes of Squishy? The content delivered by the RLCS casters? Maybe the toxicity on Twitter from Retals? For Mousesports Speed, it's classically just blueberry cheesecake from McDonalds and hanging out with Al0t and Kuxir that keeps him going. From Gfinity Elite Series sub to #1 in EU going into week 5, we delve into the psyche of what makes a boy from Norwich climb the ranks of pro RL.
At no point during week 3 did we feel at all comfortable with what was happening. Cloud 9 went 0-2 and are in 7th place, Pittsburgh Knights are in 2nd and NRG are the only unbeaten team in North America. To help us make sense of the Rocket League, but to scramble our brains about literally everything else, NRG's newest member Turbopolsa provided us with a trip into his mind.
Week 2 of RLCS has concluded and we are joined by the Danish unit himself, Reciprocity's Fruity! Topics such as EU > NA, Turbo getting NA MVP and Stumpy's "Player of the Weak" (get it?) are tackled by the boys.
There's few things that give us that lusted after hit of dopamine in our lives. The birth of a child, the success of a loved one, and knowing what the God damn floor plan for RLCS is ahead of time. We explain the issues we had with booking our seats for Season 8 LAN in Madrid, our thoughts on the Spanish only casting, plans for #Team104 and then we get into week 1 of RLCS League Play. Please note: "Player of the Weak" is spelled like this. Trust me, it's relevant to the episode.
We don't wanna say we called it... but we totally called it. Rocket League Esports reaches new heights with the announcement of the Intel World Open, a Rocket League & SFV tournament series at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics! $250,000 to the best flying car ball athletes in the world, so long as they're all from the same country. What super teams can Cole'n'Stumpy think up with the help of Vitality manager Gregan?
Great question, title. Stumpy was merrily enjoying catching up on all the games from BTS, the laughs, the fun, when Cole burst in, slapped the controller out of his hands and told him why he was wrong. Also... WHY DIDN'T CJ SAVE JAHZO????!!
We have a little hiatus for a few weeks and everything goes belly up! Ronaky abruptly leaves Triple Trouble, Tadpole continues his string of bad luck, EyeIgnite becomes a free agent and Kassio is the greatest business mind of the 21st century. Find out our thoughts!
On May 1st, it was officially announced that Epic Games have acquired Psyonix. Not just Rocket League, the whole damn company. We got everyone's favourite chirpy Rocket League Pro on, Doomsee, who gave us his thoughts and feelings on the deal. We also read comments from Twitter and Reddit and gave our (less kind) thoughts on them.
Week 1 of RLCS Season 7 starts this weekend, so who better to talk fixtures through with than good friend and knowledgeable Scotsman Johnnyboi_i. We pick his brains about who wins each match up, if Mousesports will be as poor as Stumpy is imagining, and whether this season of the Championship Series should shake the formula up.
The fellas get their teeth into more topics than they have knowledge of, covering intense topics such as the sheer amount of Rocket League news in March, why they're off to Vegas (then L.A!) soon, why Wavepunk is officially (unofficially) the best and a well thought out review of Ricky Gervais' "After Life".
