You already have the Substack.
The articles are there.
The ideas are there.
Your frameworks, convictions, client stories, strong opinions, hard-earned lessons...all sitting in your archive.
Then you think:
Maybe I should add a podcast.
And suddenly you behave as if none of that work counts.
Now you need podcast topics.
A new content calendar.
A microphone.
Graphics.
A recording schedule.
Maybe video, because somebody somewhere said you should.
And what started as “I could add my voice to this” begins looking suspiciously like another job.
That’s the problem I’m digging into in this episode.
Because whether you launched your Substack yesterday or have been publishing for years, you likely do not need more content.
You need to see what you’ve already built differently.
There’s a deeper question underneath:
Which of your ideas deserves to be heard?
Not merely read.
Heard.
Which article contains the conviction your right person needs to hear in your voice?
Which idea could build more trust because they can hear the story, the hesitation, the irritation, the certainty behind it?
And once you find it, what is that podcast supposed to do for your business?
Because publishing an episode is easy to measure.
Whether that episode is making you more memorable, more referable, and more profitable is a different conversation.
Inside this episode, I’m looking at podcasting through Podcasting TLC: Trust, Leverage, Conversion.
What builds trust?
What can you leverage instead of creating from scratch?
And where does all that listening naturally lead when the right person realizes:
“Oh. I need more of this.”
And one more thing:
You need this conversation even if you never plan to host your own show.
Podcasting is also guesting.
If you want better podcast invitations, stronger conversations, and a way to share your signature thinking without sounding like you smuggled a sales presentation into someone else’s interview, this matters to you, too.
Because a great podcast appearance should not end with:
“She was such a good guest.”
It should leave the host knowing exactly who needs you and why.
That’s the difference between being heard...and becoming remembered.
We’re going much deeper into all of this during The Substack Podcast Sprint, September 7–11, with a bonus Saturday strategy Q&A.
