I know this after years of therapy.
I also know I have an obsessive personality at times whether that's business, fitness, drink... not sure it's ever been men but maybe I can't answer that one?!
But in my own experience, I have had to deal with a severe eating disorder and it's a topic I don't often talk to people about because I think there are still stigmas attached to this taboo subject.
In this incredible conversation with Safi Abdi we talk about her journey from being overweight in childhood to how food became her best friend. Safi is a Therapeutic Coach and Disordered Eating Practitioner who decided the way forward for her was to have the gastric band but no one prepared her for what came next.
The mindset is always 90% of everything we do and that's no exception here.
Everyone wants to look and feel good, some people even want to be skinny, yet the trauma and obsession that can come from this focus can be life threatening for some.
Not only is this a rich conversation but I felt at ease to be able to speak with Safi in this non judgemental and honest space where we both set the intent to share our stories, inspire and help others of which I thank her immensely for.
