  • 11 Odd Places to Find Side Jobs For Teachers That Will Blow Your Mind

    Are you a new Mommy looking for side jobs for teachers so that you can stay at home with your new baby?

    Maybe you are looking for a side job to keep you afloat so that you can build your business or blog over a 3-5 year period.

    Whatever your interest, finding a side job that has the right hourly rate, benefits and the ability to work from home can be challenging.

    There are so many people floating around with several degrees and certificates that they wish that they can put to good use.

    The truth is that finding that perfect side job can be a straightforward process or requires a bit of luck.

    From my experience knowing where to look is always the first hurdle to cross because you are never quite sure who to trust online.

    In this post, I will delve into 11 companies that offer side jobs for teachers as well as the ability to become a tutor online.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link at no additional cost to you.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    What Is An Online Tutor

    Just in case you are new to the whole idea of online tutoring it is basically is the ability to teach a class or person via the Internet from anywhere.

    Many potential students want to have the ability to learn something new from the comforts of their home.

    The best way to deliver this is to either get a tutor to come to your home or using the Internet allow the class to be delivered online.

    Although it may sound like a new concept it really is not since many people have already been using Youtube to learn many new skills.

    YouTube offers countless people the ability to teach what they know for free to a very large audience.

    The key difference here is online tutoring is delivered in a structured format with an outcome that is accredited.

    How many times have you received a certificate or parchment after watching videos on YouTube?

    What Can You Teach?

    I am so glad that you want to know the answer to this question. It all started with teaching English online but now it has just exploded into many areas.

    For example, I earned a degree online just a couple of years ago. Yes, an entire degree. It was a 1st class honours degree in Technology.

    I never saw the inside of a classroom for the entire period and there was even a graduation ceremony at the end.

    The experience was very interesting and stressful just like any normal degree program.

    We even had projects where we needed to work within teams. In my group, there were people from several countries and different time zones.

    This online learning experience has become so popular that you can teach to high school and college students as well.

    The subjects include physics, biology, math, SAT, GRE and a whole lot more which I will cover for each tutoring provider.

    Why Do We Need To Read?

    As humans, we go through so many changes in our life that it just seems unreal.

    No one teaches us to be toddlers but we turn two and learn to cope with life and tantrums.

    Many books have been written on teen life but everyone is different. The awkward age when you are clumsy even before teen life does not come with a manual.

    This may not have occurred to you but the vast majority of our lives we spend as adults.

    We are only children for the first 18 years then adulthood just happens to us and unfortunately that does not come with a manual either.

    So, how on earth does one navigate this thing call life? Some of us are lucky in that we know exactly what we are passionate about.

    However, many of us continue to float around in life trying to figure out our purpose and passion.

    College Statistics

    Did you know that in a 2013 Washington Post article it was found that only 27 per cent of college grads have a job that is related to their major?

    You are probably wondering what about the other 73%? Well, that continues to be one of the questions on everybody's mind.

    Find more statistics at Statista

    As you can see from the statistics over 49,000,000 people earned their college degree in 2017. This is in the US alone.

    49 million people is a huge number. It would be interesting to see where they are today after a few years.

    The world we knew 50 years ago is changing and we need to adopt or be left behind.

    So, how do we remain relevant? What are our current options? When will the robots take over? What can we offer that robots can't?

  • Smash Your Big Goals With This Rare Blog Content Planner

    What are you using to achieve your blog goals this year? Ever thought about using a blog content planner?

    If you have been a blogger for a short or long time you know that there seems to be an endless list of to do's.

    Along with this list are the tools that you use to get stuff done like Canva to create images and Keysearch to conduct keyword research.

    Ever wished that there was some genius way to organise it all so that you can be more efficient to get stuff done?

    Blogging is a bit like meal planning and if you like planning meals like me then you would also enjoy blog planning.

    The truth is we can all use some help when it comes to blog content planning. We all struggle to some degree in this area.

    I have great news for you as I am going to show you a rare way to become a professional blogger in no time at all.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link at no additional cost to you.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    What is a Blog Content Planner?

    If you are new to blogging you are probably wondering what is a blog content planner and rightly so.

    It is basically a planner that gives you the ability to plan your blog content by the week, month, quarter or year or all of these options.

    The benefits of using one of these is that, it gives you the ability to set long-term and short-term goals for your blog.

    You will also get a bird's eye view of your blog content so that you know where you are heading and what you need to tweak.

    A great advantage of these planners is that it helps you to manage your time more efficiently and enables you to meet your goals quickly.

    They are available in pdf format, hard copy, on a mobile app or on your laptop or desktop.

    Some of them are quite flexible while others are set in stone. I personally prefer the ones that I can customise.

    Social Media Content Calendar

    You will notice that your blog content inevitably gets promoted on social media channels as well as the search engines.

    This is why some people refer to a blog content planner as a social media content calendar.

    Here is where I see the difference. Your blog content planner is where the ideation and goals begin.

    Also, blog content needs to be evergreen while a number of social media content has a very short shelf life.

    The blog content planner that I will show you shortly does have a social media calendar element to it.

    Let's spend some time looking at the ideal blog planning template for bloggers.

    Blog Planning Template

    If you had a magic wand that allowed you to create the perfect blog planning template what would you include?

    Because I am a WordPress user the first thing that comes to mind is a plugin that gives me that ability.

    However, based on Google's recent update where sites are being penalised for a lack of speed that would not be the best solution.

    Here is a list of things I do regularly that I believe should be included:

    * A monthly post planner* Calendar views (weekly, monthly, quarterly)* The ability to set a post status (researching, writing, scheduled,

  • Skyrocket Your Success With Amazing Blog Niche Ideas

    You have been thinking of starting a blog for a few years but you have so many blog niche ideas.

    Maybe you want to become a food critique because you love food but hate cooking.

    Probably you are thinking about going into a niche about sound engineering but you think that it is too boring.

    It is possible you just want to become a mom blogger and blog about your journey as a Mother of 5 kids.

    Whatever you have been thinking it just may work but it is important to do a bit of research and planning before jumping in.

    The truth is we are all afraid of failure so the best approach would be to minimise the risk as much as possible.

    In this post, I will give you a number of blog niche ideas and resources that you can use to increase your chances of success.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link at no additional cost to you.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    What Is A Blog Niche?

    Just in case you are brand new to this whole idea of blogging and you are confused about a niche, let me explain.

    A blog niche is basically a topic of focus for a blog. These topics can be very broad like food.

    Many bloggers would tend to specialise in a specific area like raw food or vegan or personal finance or Keto diet or a lifestyle blog for example.

    The reason for narrowing a niche like food into a sub-niche like raw food is because it is a lot easier to create products and write about content in that sub-niche.

    Of course, celebrity TV chefs can get away with writing recipe books on broader topics because they already made a name for themselves.

    On the other hand, their cookbooks can be about '30 minute meals' or '3 ingredient recipes' or 'quick pasta dishes', etc.

    1. Blogging Tutorial: How To Find Profitable A Niche

    If at this point you are still unsure about your niche that is perfectly okay and quite normal.

    One of the best ways of finding your niche is to understand more about who you are and what you are passionate about.

    This blog project may be the first blog for you so it will be a huge learning curve that will require a lot of motivation.

    It is possible to start a blog where you are not passionate about the topic and still generate an income. I did it in the past.

    However, what I discovered as time went on is that I lost interest when my family was undergoing a lot of stress.

    Write a list of things that you are an expert in and/or that you have a passion for and move on to the next stage.

    Your only motivation should not be about making money but about helping your readers.

    2. What Problem Are You Solving?

    Any entrepreneur will tell you that one of the best ways to create revenue is to solve problems.

    Think of all the jobs in the world and try to find one that does not solve a problem.

    If you said entertainment then that is not exactly correct because people love to use entertainment to ease their boredom.

    Just in case you did not know the entertainment industry is huge business. You can certainly write a blog to entertain your audience if you want.

  • 11 Painful Reasons Why You Fail To Increase Blog Traffic

    If you have been a blogger for 2 to 10 years and you continue to find it difficult to gain traction in your niche, then I may have a few reasons why you struggle to increase blog traffic.

    You see there are many bloggers who continue to create blog posts month after month, year after year with tiny improvements.

    They are led to believe that this is normal, and that blogging should be this hard. They choose to continue on this path with a long-term flicker of hope.

    The truth is that many bloggers struggle on some very minor things that they don’t even realise that they are ‘doing wrong’.

    After reading and commenting on over 100 blogs in the last 6 months I have come to realise that maybe they just don’t know, and someone needs to make them aware.

    In this post, I am going to outline a few simple tweaks that are pretty obvious to some and not to others.

    These tweaks are what makes the difference between a professional blogger who has experienced rapid growth in a matter of months compared to the 5-year blogger who still struggles to increase blog traffic.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link at no additional cost to you.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    1. Blog Layout to Increase Website Traffic

    This may not have occurred to you yet, but have you spent time assessing the layout of the paragraphs on your blog?

    In this particular case when I talk about blog layout, I am referring to giving your reader the best experience possible.

    In a recent study by HubSpot it was found that 43% of people admit to skimming blog posts as opposed to reading them.

    This means that if your layout is not conducive to skimmers you will miss out on 43% of the traffic that you should have received on your blog.

    Potential readers will click the back button which then affects your bounce rate. This then has a knock-on effect on your ranking in the search engine results page (SERP).

    Here is an example of a chunky paragraph which tends to turn away a lot of readers and increase your bounce rates.

    The ideal paragraph should be made up of smaller two-line sentences that make it easier for your reader to consume.

    2. Font Size + Line Spacing

    This may come as a surprise to you, but the size of your font combined with the spaces between each line has a positive or negative effect on the reader.

    The ideal font size should be 14 and spaces between the lines should be between 1.4 and 1.6.

    A combination of the perfect paragraph layout together with the font size and spaces between lines gives the reader the momentum to read more quickly.

    In the long run, if the topic is interesting the reader then engages with the text more readily which means less skimming.

    So far you can see that there is this domino effect that happens when a reader engages with your blog post.

    Great layout + font > increased session per user > reduced bounce rate > higher ranking > more traffic

  • Blogging For Beginners: 11 Things You Need To Know

    Are you thinking of starting a blog?  Need a resource that offers a 'blogging for beginners' pdf with tips and tricks?

    Over 10 years ago I was in your shoes and I just wanted someone to lead me by the hand and most importantly help me avoid all the mistakes.

    There wasn't any resource available to show me what I needed to do for free.  In fact, I had to spend hard earned money to learn the ropes.

    By the way, spending money on training is not a bad thing at all.  Investing in your blogging education is important but the basics should be available for free.

    The truth is I was so very disappointed because I did not learn a lot which means that my progress was a lot slower than I expected.

    It is time for me to give back to anyone who needs my help to get their head around the basics and avoid the errors.

    The purpose of this post is to give you a headstart so that you can avoid the pitfalls as much as possible.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link at no additional cost to you.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    1. Your Emotional Investment

    Nobody talks about this at all but one key element of becoming a blogger is your mindset.  Without the proper mindset, you will fail.

    Blogging is a long-term investment that requires you, the blogger, to be ready to invest 5, 10 or even 15 years of your time.

    If this is a turnoff for you or you don't have that kind of time to invest in blogging then starting a blog is probably not right for you.

    Some people write once a month, others write once a week and still others write several times a day.

    The scariest part of blogging is coming up with ideas for your next post.  This is especially true if you are new.

    As soon as you hit publish it is time to think of your next post.  It is advisable that you should of sufficient content for 6-12 weeks.

    If that sounds too scary then don't worry I will be sharing a number of resources that will help you overcome this hurdle.

    2. What Can I Write About?

    One of the most important aspects of wanting to start a blog is deciding what your blog is going to be about.

    This is why it is important to really spend time understanding your passion.

    As I already mentioned blogging is a long-term game so you need to be passionate about your niche.

    Trust me when I tell you that if you are not passionate about your blog topic you will run out of steam in a matter of weeks.

    If you are one of my readers you know that I started over 100 blogs in the last 10 years.

    The number one reason why blogs fail is that there is a lack of passion for the chosen topic. So you can become bored very quickly.

    Find your passion then spend time finding a niche that is associated with that passion.

    For example, if you are passionate about creating videos you have many options in this area.

    3. Blog Writing Examples

    At this point, you are probably still not sure if you want to be a blogger and you may want to practice writing a few pieces.

    It is a very good idea to start a blog with 10-20 posts ready because it...

  • Blog Name Ideas That’ll Leave You Singing In The Rain

    Over the last 10 years, I have managed to come up with over 1,000 blog name ideas that I used to start a minimum of 100 blogs.

    Yes, you read that right, I have started over 100 blogs during the last 10+ years.  That means that I probably made far more errors when it comes to blogging than you have, lol!

    It also means that because I made so many mistakes with blog names I have actually increased my chances of getting closer to success.

    The one thing I have learned is that you will probably be never 100% happy with the name you finally choose.

    You will, however, be sufficiently content that you did your due diligence and that you chose the best possible name at the time.

    You can easily spend a lifetime coming up with blog name ideas without starting a blog if that is your long-term business plan.

    In this blog post, I will spend time with you outlining the reason why you should choose a good name and where to get the inspiration.

    I will also advise on the best tools to help you find great blog name ideas.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.

    1. Why Bother Choosing A Good Blog Name

    Well, the truth is that a blog name is like a label that describes what your blog is about and it also makes it memorable.

    If you have any experience doing research online you will come to realise that there are hundreds of thousands of blogs that deliver information.

    What makes a handful stand out among the masses are a few things:

    * The name of the blog* The experience of using their site* The quality of their information* Social proof* Can you trust them?

    I know some of this sounds almost hard to relate to but the truth is every day thousands of people go online to solve a problem.

    There are also many resources online that can help them solve that problem but at the end of the day, they choose to use 1-2 of those blogs.

    Why do you think they did that?  When was the last time you purchased something online?  Do you remember why you chose the site that you did the transaction with?

    2. Popular Blog Name Examples

    Let's spend some time looking at a few popular websites so that you really get a chance to understand the importance of a blog name.

    Amazon is the world's largest e-commerce site but before they became popular no one knew about them.

    Strip Amazon of their social proof, big reach, vast websites, brand and money and it is simply a name.  When I hear the name I think of a big river in the Amazon forest.

    Let's look at a smaller company that represents a blog.  Airtable is a good example of a smaller site.  When I first heard the name I thought it had something to do with tables (spreadsheets).

    Lemons and Basil is another good one as it tells me that it is something to do with food and it is indeed a food blog.

  • 203 Lifestyle Blog Post Ideas That Actually Drive Traffic ⭐️
    Are you in need of some lifestyle blog post ideas? When I first started blogging I found it very difficult to come up with blog post ideas about the 6th week into my project.

    If you are like me you may have experienced this before and you suddenly realised that you have nothing to say 24 hours before the post is due.

    Depending on your niche you may experience this challenge every few weeks, every couple of months or at least once a year.

    What do you do when you find yourself face to face with the possibility of failure? How would your readers feel?

    Can you do anything to overcome the challenge and to prevent it from ever happening again?  Okay, it is not as bad as a broken bone but it can certainly cause panic attacks.

    After all, you have committed to this blogging gig but now you have no idea what to write that will add value to the lives of your reader.

    Many bloggers struggle with this dilemma.  What's worse than not having anything to write is not writing on a topic of interest that will drive traffic.

    In this post, I have created a list of 200+ lifestyle blog post ideas. This is very beneficial for bloggers in the lifestyle niche.
    What Is A Lifestyle Blog
    A lifestyle blog is just a blog that incorporates lifestyle articles.  In other words, blog posts about life in general.

    I have reason to believe that bloggers in the lifestyle niche have an easier task compared to bloggers in other niches.

    This is because in the lifestyle niche you can write about almost anything that comes to mind.  In fact, there is very little that is excluded from the lifestyle niche.

    It is, therefore, easier to come up with a list of lifestyle blog post ideas that can fill up your content calendar for a whole year.

    The other top 9 niches that exist include:

    * Marketing
    * Mommy/Parenting
    * Travel
    * Personal Finance
    * Food
    * Beauty
    * Fashion
    * Health
    * DIY

    As you can see from the list above a lifestyle blogger can write about things in these other 9 niches quite easily.

    The difference is that lifestyle bloggers will normally not go into great depth or spend as much time on these other topics.

    Lifestyle Articles
    To help you overcome your panic attack or challenge about what to write next I have taken some time to come up with a list of ideas.

    This list of over 200 lifestyle blog ideas will help you to look like a professional blogger in no time.

    Yes, it will involve you doing some research in some instances but at least the hardest part of what to write next is there for you to use.

    Here is that list of lifestyle blog ideas.

  • Why A Pinterest Course Can Be A Huge Disappointment
    Have you ever purchased a Pinterest course and implemented the suggested strategies?  Did you get the results you were hoping for?

    After enrolling in over 7 courses that teach how to use Pinterest for business I can tell you a thing or two of what actually works.

    You see there are so many Pinterest courses that are available on the market that claim to offer you the ability to go from zero to 10,000 or 30,000 page views a month.

    As a blogger, you have probably seen this claim many times before.  You wonder at the back of your mind "will this one work for me?"

    The truth is as a blogger you need traffic to your site and in desperation, you will be willing to do anything for page views.

    Before you whip out the credit card, there are some things you need to know.  Pinterest does work without a doubt and I will explain the shocking details momentarily.

    Disclaimer: please note that this post may contain affiliate links which means that if you buy one of my recommended products I get paid a commission for sharing the link.  I only recommend products that I have tried myself and have experienced success.
    What is Pinterest Marketing?
    Pinterest marketing is using Pinterest pins to display your products and services to potential customers using a Pinterest for Business account.

    There has been so much hype in the last four years when it comes to Pinterest marketing. Many bloggers need a Pinterest course to take them through this process.

    The reason why you would market using a Pinterest business account as opposed to a personal account is for analytics.

    Other advantages are having the ability to confirm your website and enabling rich pins.  It gives your pins an added benefit when compared to regular pins.

    Because you have access to analytics you can get a better understanding of how your content is performing on the Pinterest platform.

    It gives you the ability to optimise and tweak your strategy so that you can get better results from your marketing efforts.
    What's Included On A Pinterest Course?
    All of the Pinterest courses I took so far has the following common elements included as standard.

    * Creating or converting a Pinterest Business Account
    * Confirming your website
    * Setting up Rich Pins
    * Creating Boards and Pins
    * Branding your account

    Here is a list of items that were included in some courses but not in others.

    * Using 3rd party schedulers like TailwindApp (get one month free of TailwindApp here)
    * How to get the most out of Board list
    * Manual pinning
    * Using off-brand pins
    * Creating several pins for a single post
    * How to get the click-throughs
    * Creating clickable titles
    * Pinterest SEO
    * Content upgrades

    My Experience of Each Pinterest Course
    It is only when my account started to plateau after reaching a certain amount of views did I realise that something is missing.

    I spent some time evaluating each course presenter to see what were the common traits across all their accounts.

    After 12 months of troubleshooting and testing, I finally noticed something that was glaringly obvious.

    Before I tell you what the one thing is, let's look at the different courses just to give each a proper evaluation.

    Pinfinite Growth by Melyssa Griffin was the first course I took which was great.  I did spend a lot of time setting up the account for success.
