    5 Sizzling Life Hacks For Ladies
    Today we will look at 5 simple but profound ways that will help women improve the way we look and feel about ourselves.  All to often as women we are busy with life and looking after those we love so here are 5 cheats to help you get quick results and still maintain life they way you want it to be.

    The last life hack includes a way to improve the way your photos are taken to give you and your loved ones breathtaking results.

    Hello ladies, Alvern here, today we are going to look at life hacks for women as strange as that might sound as women we always need ways in which we can keep ourselves looking beautiful as well as finding different ways to be more efficient.  Whether it be cooking or doing everyday things as Mum's or as working women so I thought it would be really great to produce a series on life hacks.

    Okay so let's get started, the first life hack would be about summer feet. Now I know it's depending on where you are it probably isn't summer or probably it is late summer but I just thought this particular one will be really handy because for me, for example every summer when summer is coming on it's really important because I have, I have dry feet really important for me to get my feet ready to wear sandals or slippers without feeling a bit uncomfortable with ashy looking feet and because I'm rushing I wouldn't have always have time to moisturize my feet.

    So, the life that I have, I know some people probably wouldn't like it but for those of you who wouldn't mind doing it is this is how you go about doing it.  Instead of going and obviously and you could obviously go and have a proper pedicure if that's you know what you prefer but if you don't have time patience or cash and you have to go to a summer barbecue or summer party and you realise, oops, your feet are not ready to wear sandals and slippers or any kind of summer shoes here's a quick hack that would get your feet ready in as little as a 48 hours or 2 nights.

    What you do is you can make sure your feet are clean before going to bed and just this is something to do before going to bed, make sure your feet are clean so you can probably either if you just had a shower fine, if it is you need to wash them just wash out your feet and then moisturise your feet with either your body lotion, with baby oil or with Vaseline petroleum jelly.

    Moisturise them really well both the underside and the top of your feet, in between toes and then put on a pair of socks, so they can be preferably cotton socks. So, pop on a pair of socks, it doesn't have to be socks going all the way up, it could be sports socks, those ankle socks.  So, put on a pair of those and then head off to bed.  If the socks are bit uncomfortable for you well you can probably try moisturising your feet before going to bed and not put on any socks or you can put it on for the first few hours and take it off while you sleep.

    If you really, desperately have no choice but to do it I’d prefer that you endure the uncomfortable feeling of wearing socks and just put them on and head off to bed.  As soon as you wake up in the morning you can pop them off and you will notice the difference in the way your feet look.  After the first night, you would see a remarkable change but you would see or notice a difference in the way your feet look.

    Then do it again for second and possibly a third night if it is you really want them looking really nice and moisturised. The good thing about it is that this would last you 2 or 3 days. After the second or third night of wearing socks the next, the next 3 nights you don't need to wear them again just moisturise your feet as normal and your feet will then eventually get dry.

    Obviously drink lots of water because water is what really would keep your body moist but if you’re drinking lots of water in yo...

  • Grow Your LinkedIn Network – Part 3 - Success Unscrambled

    Grow Your LinkedIn Network - Part 3
    Following on from parts one and two today we will be looking at 6 distinct ways that you can use to grow your LinkedIn network, including the following;

    * Past school/college and workmates.
    * Groups
    * Post Likes
    * Articles
    * Growing to a minimum of 500 connections
    * Commenting on other peoples post/article

    The essential thing to remember is that LinkedIn is a professional network and you should treat it as such.  Your network and how you grow it has the power to bring you success in your future so treat it as a way to connect with genuine people who can help you become successful and you can do the same for them as well.

    [00:00:01] Setting up for success, Grow Your LinkedIn network, part 3

    [00:00:08] Hello ladies, Alvern here. Now that you have a profile that is decent looking. It gets really, really exciting from here because you can start inviting people to join your LinkedIn network or for some of you grow your network even more. So where do you find these people.

    [00:00:31] Now let's look at a list here. So, for example you have old school college work mates that you believe that add value to network or will be great go to people for any sort of questions or queries that people might have in your LinkedIn network. You can contact them. Those groups that I asked you to join in part two, for those of you who haven't yet listened to LinkedIn part one or two I would add links in the document here.

    [00:01:05] So those groups, remember you can join up to 50 groups and some groups like big, super big you have like a hundred thousand people in one single group. That means you can have, if all of them joined you, which I doubt, so you will probably see about a hundred of those over a 12-month period you get them to join your LinkedIn network, those are people and multiply that by 50 groups or even 10 percent of the groups with a thousand people. So, you know it all adds up bit by bit. But you are going to have to work at it and make a commitment to do it. We have things like post likes, articles, you have the ability to comment on other people's posts and articles. So, let's go through those step by step.

    [00:01:56] So with all school college or workmates that's fairly easy for you. You look at all of the people you worked with in the past I know it is sometimes very difficult for me. I can't remember all of the people that I worked with in all of my past companies I do remember here and there a few people live. If you go through for each company and go look at the current people working there you can probably remember one person contact them and ask them to remind you of the names of people that you worked with on the team. They may find it strange just explain to them that you're trying to remember the first and last name or just the last name or whatever it is.

    [00:02:33] So groups like I mentioned to him before, get involved in at least two or three conversations contribute and ask them to connect with you. I guess the first thing you need to do when it comes to the groups it is something that you progressively work at or make it a habit for example. So, set a goal for yourself and say OK I want to achieve a minimum of 100 people from this group to connect into my LinkedIn network.

    [00:03:05] Break it down like this, two to five connection requests per day. Or every two days or per week and you can go as fast or slow as you would like to go. But for me when I wanted to grow my LinkedIn network from less than 100 connections and I said I wanted to achieve 500 my first goal was 500. I said OK I want to achieve, make it a smart goal, make it very specific, 500 connections, make it achievable. So,

  • Setting Up Your LinkedIn Profile – Part 2 - Success Unscrambled

    LinkedIn Profile - Part 2
    Today we will be continuing from our last podcast where we covered the LinkedIn basics.  Our focus will be on more advanced features available in your LinkedIn profile like:

    * Awards
    * Interests
    * Groups
    * Following Other People
    * Skills
    * Testimonials

    The idea here is to make sure that your profile is as attractive and engaging as possible to make people interested in being a part of who you are and what you represent.  My last two jobs came to me.  I did not have to go looking.  I suspect my next 3-4 jobs will be the same as I get contacted by recruiters and hiring managers nearly every week.  I also don't classify myself as having something superbly different to offer compared to the next person.

    [00:00:01] This is the setting up for success series LinkedIn profile part two. Hi ladies, Alvern here,

    [00:00:09] This is part two of the series called Setting Up For Success. If you didn't listen to LinkedIn Part One you can access it with the link I've included in the article. Today we will be delivering in deeper information into your LinkedIn profile, where we will be covering groups, awards, interest, following other people, skills and testimonials or recommendations. Let me start with groups.

    [00:00:39] Depending on your LinkedIn experience you are probably already part of a group or some groups. But I encourage you to join as many as possible. You may or may not be aware of this but each person who has an account with LinkedIn has the ability to connect up to 50 groups, technically speaking I know I'm part of more than 50 but 50 is sort of the accepted limit that LinkedIn has put on everyone.

    [00:01:17] So just be aware of that when you're joining groups and groups are important because it allows you to focus on areas or people or potential prospects or potential employers that you can sort of hone in on and be a part of what they are interested in. So, each group is based or even centered on a specific topic or niche.

    [00:01:49] For example there's a group of people for social media marketing. One that is for past employees or alumni of any university or college another one that can be alumni from a past job for example. We have all different kinds for example I'm part of one where we have Women in photography. If it is you are interested in photography you can join a group based on that hobby or if that is what you do full time you can join a particular group as well.

    [00:02:24] Others still that are a part of for example in the physical world there are all of these corporate type groups for example I'll give you a typical one. There's one called the Yorkshire Mafia and what they do you is they have all these people or businesses in Yorkshire who are part of this let's call it a business network. And because that business network actually exists in the physical world you can actually have a group on LinkedIn related to that particular interest. So, people who belong to that network can join it online and then keep up with each other there.

    [00:03:10] I think there's about other things like people who are interested in jobs in Canada for example or jobs in Asia or APAC jobs in China or people want to do business in China for example not necessarily jobs only. So, there are all a lot of specific groups, niche groups like there are groups on growth hacking for example and groups around Facebook marketing, groups about people in LinkedIn wanting to connect with each other or there are so many of them.

    [00:03:46] All I can advise it to do is choose wisely, because whatever is posted in those groups would appear in your news feed. And if it is something that you really don't like what I'm interested...

  • LinkedIn Profile – Let’s Start At The Beginning - Success Unscrambled

    Are You Happy With Your LinkedIn Profile?
    Today we will be looking at the very basics that you need in order to build a strong foundation for your LinkedIn profile to bring you success. Here is a brief list of what will be covered in today's podcast;

    * Applies if you are an employee, contractor or entrepreneur
    * Get a professional photo done
    * Background photo
    * Media - photos, video, audio, embed.ly providers
    * Summary for each role
    * Contact details for the main summary
    * Writing a story
    * Talk about the problem
    * Adding a disclaimer
    * Compelling media
    * Switch off auto updates

    We will cover what you need as a minimum and the next time we will look at more advanced features.

    [00:00:11] Hi folks, Alvern here. Welcome to the setup for success series. Let's start at the beginning. Today we're going to start at the beginning. By setting you up for success with a LinkedIn professional profile. Now there are many, many courses and books written on this topic. But as I have been told that I have a really good profile. Over 12,000 followers and I belong to 50 plus groups, get between 5 and 15 connection requests every single day and I have an SSI score of 80+. I'll explain what an SSI score later. I tell you where I believe or why I believe I get success on LinkedIn. So this particular episode applies if you are an employee or contractor or even an entrepreneur.

    I don't know if you are aware of it but one of the best ways to be found online especially when it comes to professional networking is through the platform called LinkedIn.com. I believe I joined me back in the year 2007, so that's 10 years now. And I have been growing from strength to strength since then. Now one of the first things I would encourage you to do is to get a professional photo for your LinkedIn profile. It doesn't matter if you're photogenic or not. It really is important because as they say an image or a photo, or picture speaks a thousand words. Just your picture can attract whoever you want to attract whether it be customers or clients or even potential employers to your particular profile.

    [00:02:19] So you know if it even if it cost a bit of money it would be worth it to have a professional photo on your profile going forward. So something that you need to look into there are many photographers out there you can go to a photography studio and get a professional photo done for your profile.

    [00:02:45] Next thing we're going to look at then is your past and current experiences.

    [00:02:50] So there’s many, many different schools of thought that say that you should have probably the last 10 years or even last five years depending on how often you have moved jobs on your LinkedIn profile. If for example you have any sort of gaps in your experience in other words it wasn't a continuous service from one job to the other and you have gaps of one month or two months it shouldn't should be such a big deal. However, if it is you were a homemaker for example a housewife or even a househusband.

    Now, this is particularly for ladies so housewife then you probably been home looking after the kids for that amount of time. You probably had a hobby even at that point in time my advice to you is even write down that hobby whatever it is you were doing be it photography, basket weaving, fishing you decide whatever those hobbies were and put those down because they actually help especially if they're relevant to what it is you want to do in the future they actually help you build up your particular profile. In terms of the background photo if you go into a LinkedIn and click create you'd see the option to add your own profile photo as well as a back...
