Why does your memory fail you, and can you actually train it to work better?
In this restored interview from 2011, I sit down with Arthur Bornstein, creator of Memory Dynamics, to explore how memory works, why we forget, and what we can do to improve our ability to remember and recall information.
Arthur spent decades teaching memory-development techniques and helping people understand how attention, association, visualization, and other mental processes affect what we retain.
This conversation was recorded more than a decade ago. I recently went back into the archives, cleaned up and restored the original audio, and decided to make the interview available again because many of the ideas Arthur discusses remain relevant today.
In this conversation, we discuss memory, learning, recall, concentration, and practical ways to develop a stronger memory.

One thing I would not do is oversell the restoration. The historical nature of the recording is actually an asset. "From the archives, restored and released again" gives it provenance instead of making people expect modern studio-quality production.
